The hedges look completely off though... why would there be hedges like that in those places?


The British coastline is full of areas that are still largely rural with historic hedgerows used as windbreaks and protection for fields and as Jim said roadways. There's lots of sea buckthorn and hawthorn near me in areas that look very similar to the Dorset layout, cliffs and all. Plus they do indeed hide the board joins.
