Congrats on having Fiendish Fanatics fully fund on the first day of the KS campaign.   :)

Thanks, Lembit.
 :D

In fact they had their first outing in our new M.A.D. Team campaign last night......

All I need to do is throw a succession of fives and sixes - what could go wrong?  ;)

....but it was the Cult of the Soiled Laundry that won out with the 'fives and sixes' in the end.
 ;)

It was the Lockswin what done for me team, guv ::). Really enjoyable game as always with SA, despite the violence, mayhem and general ass stomping ;D. Suffered the good and the bad - an agent with reduced Con :'(, but another who's now a basket case (and thus immune to psychology) - score! :D

Looking forward to the next game already, once I've changed my team's own undercrackers (The Cult of the Soiled Laundry aren't the only ones who's whites ain't right lol). I'll learn 'em to turn up to cult worship with questionable staining and robes which clearly haven't been cleaned using new and improved non-biological Poop-Be-Gone...

Thanks, Lembit.
I am pretty chuffed with the response to the Cultists.
Better than I expected.
 :)

Cheers, Al.
I hope to get time to add a few to the Cult of the Purple-Headed Worm at some point as well to bring their numbers up.
New recruits, eh?

Very nice looking :)

Thank you, Alfrik.

Major Action Deployment team.

The idea behind the M.A.D. team came from the appearance of the Gas Masked Agents that appear in the Blind Beggar range of miniatures.....

Based upon their appearance and armament a M.A.D. team follows the following rules:

Major Action Deployment team rules.

30BP (15PP/15EP)

A M.A.D. team consists of 1 Character and 4 Agents.

All have Light Armour (+1 Con, -1 M) and Clubs (rifle butts!).
Each member of the team is armed with one firearm.
The weapons carried by the are as follows: 2x Tommy-Gun, 1x Double Barrelled Shotgun, 1x Single-Barrelled Shotgun and 1x Bolt Action Rifle.

3 additional skills to be distributed amongst team as these are not 'green' operatives and it reflects their previous experience.
(Up to 2 skills may be allocated to the Character and 1 to Agents)

There will be no new members added or any re-equipping.
The team continues until disbanded by the player.

Instead of gaining Map Pieces the team gains 1EP, to spend as the player decides, instead.
This may be 'stored' between games in order to 'save-up' for better items should the player wish.
This represents weapons non-standard issue equipment that the team may have picked up whilst in the field.

As the team is run at the same points total as one that has gained a Promotion for Extraordinary Heroism the same rules apply regarding Lurker benefits.

As some of you will know, we started the new M.A.D. Team campaign recently using the rules above.
If anyone else wants to have a go at using a M.A.D. Team, then I have launched a KS to put the Gas-Masked Agents into production.
It has already funded, so they will appear.

I also finally got around to painting the Resting Deep One from earlier.
Here she is with her husband Reggie:

Rosie has already completed the 'change' but has not gone 'Deep' yet and lives in a cave on the coast of Foulmoth.
She can be seen here with her husband, Reggie, who is not ready to leave the human realm just yet.
She is waiting for him but the urge to dive into the depths is getting more intense every day.....

I have added the pair to the Shop, here:

I'm not much of a Rules Guy, but the minis are BEAUTIFUL. Rosie & Reggie are a CHARMING couple. Their domestic situation remind me of my Mom & Dad's retirement. Dad had had it with work & retired at 62; while Mom loved her job & worked until she was 65. Dad hung out at the golf course with seaside caves being scarce on Long Island.

I guess we all like to 'retire' in different ways.

Well, we played games #3 and #4 of Legionnaire Berts M.A.D. Team campaign last night, both against Ghoul Tribes infesting Cemeteries in North London.

In the first game the team, now down to four members but still at a respectable 29BP, had a tough time time failing several Resolve checks at crucial times but managing to come out victorious in the end.
They lost only one Agent to Major Injury in the process.
Rather luckily for him, the result on the Injury Table was Emboldened, thus picking up the Tough Skill for his troubles!

The second game was slightly easier for him when the failed Resolve tests worked in his favour, with Agents fleeing from the Ghoul King leaving the sad monstrosity to be gunned down in a hail of Tommy Gun and Shotgun fire.
The King's followers exacted some revenge for their fallen patriarch, with one of the Agents looking more than slightly sickly after being Poisoned and a second Agent being taken out with  a Major Injury.
This time Bert was not so lucky as the Agent succumbed to his wounds and died.

Thus the team is now down to three hardy individuals after four games.
How long can they last now?
Especially as there are rumours of a huge Alien Spider in the Highgate Wood area!

There doesn't seem to be a great possibility of a long & rosy future being a M.A.D. Agent, but at least they don't have to worry about their retirement plans...other than funeral expenses that is.

All part of the terms of service in the corps ;). Or working for the Ministry, to be more exact (and British). I rather like the American version though, as it provide a chance to reference Aliens and Sgt. Apone's tremendous speach

"A day in the Corp's like a day on the farm - every meal a banquet! Every pay check a fortune! I love the Corps!"

As Mason himself pointed out, the MAD team are suicide troops! It ain't a question of if they survive, but for how long. Great fun. Down to three fellas right enough, but the beauty of Strange Aeons is in the points system - the weaker I get the less nasties Paul can throw at me. He's got some real nastee shit left up his voluminous gaming sleeves though, so expect carnage to be played out on these very pages sometime soon...

We're turning our weekly sessions to Necromunda for a few weeks now, but I am sure I can pursuade Mason to put on a few extramural games of SA to keep the action bubbling.

Reports of zombies on Catford Broadway appear to be readily substantiated - one asked me for a light on the way home last night. ;D

I finally got around to some better pictures of the Cultists.
They were taken for the website, but they should suffice here for illustrative purposes...
