  • Pedantic bugger, apparently.
Oh, that sort of Roller!  I was envisaging a garden roller (vital for cricket pitches), or maybe a steam roller.   lol

Funnily enough, I think this is one project where either of those would not look so out of place.....

That could be very entertaining game wise...

The 'hostage' is trying to escape with their legs tied together and the cultists are trying to capture them on a rather large lawnmower  lol

 ;)

cheers

You, my good man, are Bonkers!!
(Does sound amusing, though, I must admit.... ::))

Right, on to the offering of the day:
The Mad Scientist.

I am pretty happy with the way he came out, as I hate painting white, but he is ok.
I should have taken a picture of the back, as he looks better from that angle!
Only after looking at the photo, which is quite a lot bigger than actual size, did I realize that I should do something more with the 'reflector-thingy' on his head.
Not sure what, though...

(P.S I think he should be wearing gloves, as his left hand seems quite swollen, but I prefer bare hands on this figure.
Maybe he has been injecting himself too much....)

Hope you like him!
 :D

I hate doing white also, I have found some secrets like Foundry Paints makes an Artic Grey set (3 colors, base and two highlights) and GW redid their paint line and some of their colors like a grey/white is in the paint line that has good coverage.

great looking fig!

WELL DONE! He definitely looks several sandwiches shy of a picnic...I'd rather not think about his latest project.

That tip may well come in handy.  ;)

His 'latest project' will be the next thing on the painting table once I have finished the current batch of Ministry Staff.....

Very mean looking Mad Scientist...great paintjob. The white is very good, especially because it's one of the hardest colors to paint along with yellow...the only way for me to get white looking really good is when I use countless of very thin layers (too lazy to do it that way) or use my Airbrush.
I love the way he doesn't wear gloves, it makes him a bit more creepy that he doesn't mind getting his hands dirty.

Get yourself one. You know that you want to!

You are right, I could take more time on each individual character, but I am trying to put together this entire project in three months, so an 'acceptable' gaming standard is what I am aiming for.
I originally thought that I would be painting a small investigator team of about 10 or so, and maybe 20 Lurkers with a couple of larger creatures thrown in, but things have grown far beyond that.
The Ministry section alone has already reached 16 finished miniatures, plus 4 almost ready, and the Lurkers are 17 strong at the moment.
To be honest, I am surprised at my output in just over a month, really surprised.
I certainly did not expect to get that much done already!

The project seems to have grown in the process, the lead pile to still be tackled stands at at least another 40 figures, plus 8 vehicles, and is still growing.
That total does not even include the larger mythos creatures that I have or intend to do....

I am afraid that I am going to have to stop buying everything that I have an idea for, or it will never stop!
Saying that, I am really enjoying this project, so certainly have no complaints.

Be back later with the last of the miniatures completed last week.

I had better get back the painting table now, if I am going to keep up the production rate....

The final figure from last weeks batch;

The Batman!

Not THAT Batman!
Made you look, though, didn't it?  ;)

Batman as in; the batman of a commisioned officer, to act as a personal servant and bodyguard.

A batman's duties often included:

-acting as a "runner" to convey orders from the officer to subordinates
-maintaining the officer's uniform and personal equipment as a valet
-driving the officer's vehicle, sometimes under combat conditions
-acting as the officer's bodyguard in combat
-other miscellaneous tasks the officer does not have time or inclination to do

The action of serving as a batman was referred to as "batting". In armies where officers typically came from the upper class, it was not unusual for a former batman to follow the officer into later civilian life as a domestic servant.

This particular Chap, Wayne Bruice, acts as the batman to the Colonel of M.O.O.S.(E).,
Sir Sebastian 'Chuffer' Chuffington-Smythe, and was with the Colonel during his service in the trenches during the Great War and has stayed in his service after being demobbed, and now acts as his manservant and bodyguard.

Hope you like him!

This weeks offerings will be up in a few days, I should have them finished by then. They include the Medic, and couple of Lurkers and The Minister himself.
