Wow - did you scratch-build all of that terrain?!

They are not scratch-built, mostly plastic kits that have been modified in some way.

The large wall with scaffolding (which is used as the main wall of the church when it is used as a whole) is predominantly made from the GW kit Shrine of the Aquila. It has had all the rivets and electric cabling removed (very tedious!), with parts added from Pegasus kits, a raised dais area scratchbuilt from insulation foam and scaffolding made from barbeque skewers.

The smaller pieces are modified plastic ruins with added groundwork etc.

The pews, altar and pulpit are from Frontline wargaming.

All the above pieces have had scratchbuilt bases added, of course.

The Graveyard is an OOP repainted GW foam piece from quite some time ago.

There are a few predominantly scratch-built items in my scenery collection, some of which are earlier on in this thread, with others in my Mordheim thread here:

http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=30667.0

Some of which will certainly appear in future Strange Aeons AAR's
 ;)

Todays update is the Russian Team.
They were purchased painted and simply rebased to match the other models in my SA collection.
There are a couple of things I would like to work on, but they are fine to go straight into action.

Here they are with their leader painted by Majorsmith

I am not entirely sure which way to go with these yet.
They may be Russians on active service in Britain, or British-trained agents active in Russia.

As they are based the same as the other miniatures, I am more inclined to go with the first option.

Anyone have any thoughts on that?

You are, presumably, working on suitable names like Teara Bolokov, Villu Bugarov, etc........  lol

OOH! VERY COOL MINIS! The Russian Ladies & Lad painted up wonderfully...I love the Babe with the cigar. VERY WELL DONE, as always!
The possibilities for plot options & bad puns are endless.

Very cool stuff!

Do you know about these?

http://www.pulpfigures.com/catcode.php?range=Personalities&code=PHP&number=17&custID=160131102241343045260

The one makes a great sword user and the other has a falcon...plus lots of pistols.

Thanks, DeafNala
The cigar-toting babe is my favourite, too.
And I heartily agree with the plot options and puns statement...

Yea, the sword the the falcon figs would be neat to add in, hard to find a period figure that has a sword..

Bet you're 'Russian' to get a game in with them, Mason :D.

A nice collection, again. Methinks you are gonna hafta start getting some games in as a player as well as a GM ;).

To be honest, I like the whole pack.
A 'must have' for continuing the Russian team in future.
Thanks for the reminder, like I said, I had forgotten that they even existed!
 :D

Now that is a great idea!

Funny boy!
I was also considering them as an option for some Lurkers led by an Evil Genius...
 ;)

To be honest, mate, I really do not mind playing the Lurkers.
As you know, life is tough as the Lurkers, but can be just as rewarding giving the Good Guys a tough time.
The other side of the coin is that I am really enjoying putting the collection together, so playing is really a bonus, Lurker or not!

That's cool, mate! 8) I always worry that we seem to be having the lion's share of all the fun, whilst you slave away getting the games together. As long as you are enjoying what you are doing that's all right! Nice one. Now get back to that painting table...

Again! Too much post and no time to answer! So following the order: I love the picnic party of the M.O.O.S.E. Very nice group shot and teh vehicules are great. I definitely have to add some to my team.
The board is awesome! The ruins and the graveyard are terrific and very atmospheric. Can't wait to read an AAR using it!  :-*.
And now the Russians. I just need them.  :o. Not specially for SA, but for any pulp era game. This range of minies is a must have. And your paint work on them is really beautiful.  :-*. Can't wait to see what's coming next.

Where have you been hiding?
I was beginning to wonder if you had been kidnapped!

Next: At the moment I am trying to get a couple of new Lurkers ready for tonight's games.
Also working on some Scenes of Terror, or maybe Scenes of Mild Scariness.....
