Did not like to suggest such a thing, mate....

We have a few games set up for today, with The Lockswin, Legionnaire Bert and smokezombie coming around later.
It should be good fun.
We should have a few pictures to use as evidence later....

Ikea has some display cases made from glass for $64...been looking at acrylic plastic cases as they are easier to move and less likely to break.

"I had originally planned for these to be henchman of my Rogue Character, but now I am unsure, as they may join the Ministry as a special team called in when no-one else can help...."

Just don't call them the "A Team"...don't even think about it.
Alternately they could be the Henchmen of some Evil Steam Tech Witch as a substitute for Flying Monkeys...the Air Men of Oz.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

The air men of Oz - sounds quite Antipodean!

Yeah, very A Team!  :D

Alsa I shan't be joining in the festivities tonight as once again Papa Nurgle is threatening to envelope me in his slimy grasp....hoping to be fit for a bash next week though. Good luck to Luckswin...oops!... Lockswin and Smoke Zombie tonight.

Look forward to those AARs!

Get well soon, Bert.

No full on AAR's to come, but there are a few pics of tonights games.

Great game involving The Lockswin, very tense.

Also, smokezombie lost his SA virginity with some very extreme results!

More later...

I will have to put up the report for The Lockswin's game later, when I have had time to sort out the pictures.

Regarding smokezombie's first foray into Strange Aeons, it was certainly a tale of two very contrasting outcomes.

In his first game, Fight!, he adopted a very aggressive attitude with his team of three heavily equipped agents.
It paid off as he managed to take all the Cultists down without loss!
Well done, mate!

He adopted the same attitude in the second game, Retrieve the Artifacts.
This time the Cultists decided to put up a bit of a fight.

So much of a fight that they managed to take out all three members of the team, despite failing every Resolve test they had to make, causing every member a Major Injury in the process!

When rolling for injuries at the end of the game, the dice were very harsh to smokezombie.
His character managed to roll Multiple Injuries, and ended up with a Leg Wound (-1 Movement) and Head Trauma (+1 Resolve).
Ouch!

It got worse.
When it came to rolling for the Injuries to his Agents they both got the same result-
Dead!
Both of them.
Ouch, ouch and double ouch!
So, all in all, a harsh lesson for adopting aggressive tactics.

Or is it?

Now that he only has his Character left, it is time for a re-equip and, as his Character is only worth 5 Base Points, he has 10 Base Points to play with to rebuild.
I think he will be taking five Agents, all armed exactly how he wants them.

From almost total disaster to free rein in the armoury.
Chances to equip the 'perfect team' dont come about too often.

Not bad considering!

Put yourself in that position: A weakened Character who now has five well equipped Agents to do the dirty work.

How would you go about equipping in that situation?

Worth having a really good think about it, as that situation wont arise again too soon...

He should make sure to load up on a few Agents with Lt options so the command is spread out. Still 5 Agents with 10 points is tough and then adding gear...yea, he could be in for a challenge next time.

think he needs to find a nice mini in a wheelchair to represent his character !

Lol. It's not that bad, perhaps a wheelchair next time my character gers -1 movement.

It was great fun tho. Lovely system that feels very story driven.

As for taking my SA cherry. All I can say is that despite the painfull outcome Mason was very gentle and he did get me a bit drunk on some rather strong cider. What a gent.

As for re stocking the cannon fodder....er..agents. I'm going to go for the five. I'll still use my double barrel librarian( speak languages) and my twin gun fella( two fisted ranged weapons).
For the others I'm leaning towards dynamite, another tommy gun and perhaps a bolt action rifle. But to be honest it's more about finding the minis that fit the theme of the party.

Which happily means purchasing more minis!!!!

It should be interesting, whatever he decides.
The Lurker options should be fun too!

There are a couple of interesting options available, but I dont think such drastic action is needed yet.
Any more Leg Wounds and maybe...

Equip them all up.
Go on, you know you want to!

The more the merrier, it means more Lurker points...

One of several good options, certainly apt if you want him to still be on active service!

Does anyone have any further advice/opinions regarding equipping the team for the ultimate 're-equip'...?

What a contrast from the 1st foray to the 2nd.
As I had to leave for work  :-(  I didnt get a chance to witness the carnage of game 2.

Re-equip is good but dont forget that the harder and more tooled up the threshold team is, the more tougher and well equipped the lurkers will be!!

I would definately add a rifle to your weaponry.
An agent armed with a rifle and on alert can change situations and also makes the manouvering of the lurkers more cautious.

Was great to meet Smokezombie for the 1st time and look forward to many more evenings of gaming.

My game was played earlier in the day and was a very tense affair but i'll let mason dilvulge the result in his battle reports!!

My game was played earlier in the day and was a very tense affair but i'll let mason dilvulge the result in his battle reports!!

And here is a brief rundown of what happened with a few piccies thrown in for good measure.

First off, here is the board set-up we used, representing a small farm not far from the waters of Lough Neagh.

The Scenario was Treasure Hunt with the Agents of the Ministry attempting to find the evidence that the Cult of the Purple-headed Worm had left somewhere on the Farm.

Unbeknown to the good men of Murphy's Law, the Cult had left a small group behind to protect it!

The Ministry team enter the silent farmyard just as dawn is breaking.

As the men from the Ministry entered the Farmyard, the Cultists had been sleeping off the excesses of the previous night in the hayloft of the stables.

One of the more alert zealots, who had been busy throwing up out of the window, spotted the Agents of His Majesty enter the yard and raised the alarm.

The Cult Leader roused the rest of his followers, who grabbed their weapons and headed down the stairs for the vehicles that were parked in the yard.

The team had split up, two of the heroic Agents had been sent to search the buildings outside the yard, with Murphy leading two of the Agents towards the main gates.

The Cultists had moved into the courtyard, with the Cult Leader and a couple of his brethren heading for his car, whilst the fella with the Tommy-gun went to open the main gates.

As the Tommy-gunner opened the main gates he spotted an Agent approaching and ruthlessly gunned him down in a hail of lead.
(The two d6 in the picture were Lockswin's futile attempts at cover saves... ;))

A furious firefight had developed with the Ministry team realising that they had overstretched themselves slightly, with three members engaging the enemy whilst the remaining two searched frantically for what they had come for!

A crazed Maniac came howling out of the building next to the gates, charging furiously towards the Agent with the Tommy gun.
The Alert Agent opened fire, hitting the Maniac full on, but the insane Toughness of the crazed loony enabled her to shrug off the effects of the bullets and tear into the unfortunate Ministry man, ripping him to shreds with her meat cleaver that was concealed inside the teddy bear she was wielding!

With two Agents down, things were starting to look grim for Murphy's lads!

With two men down, and Murphy feeling rather exposed in the vicinity of the Maniac and Tommy gunner, he fell back to where the other two Agents were frantically searching for the stash.
Screaming to his men to "Hurry up and find it!", they redoubled their efforts with one of the team coming up trumps!

Now they just had to get away with the fruits ( ::)) of their labour!

Realising that the accursed Agents of the Crown were on the verge of escaping with their Treasure, the Cult Leader used the 'trigger word' to activate the inner reserves of the Maniac and ordered her to kill the Agent who was trying to escape with his swag.

With a blistering turn of speed (using her Heroic skill), the Maniac covered the distance between them and laid frenziedly into the Agent dragging the crate.
The Agent was desperately fending off the blood-soaked teddy bear wielded by the frothing lunatic, but things did not look good for his future career prospects until Murphy himself came to his rescue with his trust Service Issue sword!

The fight was prolonged and furious, enabling the rest of the Cultists to close the distance on the Ministry men attempting to escape with their prize.

Eventually, Murphy ended the ear-splitting screams of the lunatic with a swing of his sword that sliced cleanly across her throat, silencing her incessant tooth jarring wailing forever!

With shots from the rest of the Cult hitting the crates and the car between them, Murphy and the Agent dragged the Treasure off of the board to safety.

The men from the Northern Ireland Division triumph again.

Just!

That was a close call!

VERY CINEMATIC battle report...fortunately I had some popcorn left over from last night. Murphy courageously taking out the Teddy Bear armed, crazy Girl with a mere sword was a high point...I imagine there was more to The Girl than a stuffed toy & a lot of screaming. It sounds like one of those games that ends with everyone having a mild case of battle fatigue. VERY WELL DONE!
