You'll find an enthusiastic ally in Mason, Styx - our man is fond of the black stuff. Never could develop a liking for the Liffy water myself, but then again I acknowledge I am a man of lowbrow tastes when it comes to beer - I am fond of American beer, so I am no man to judge! ::)

I tend to go for beer that tastes good (much like wine), life is too short to drink crap! I think about 98% of American Beer is horrible! Microbrews don't fit into that, talking about the mass production stuff...still I don't drink much Guiness either, a bit thick for my tastes. I tend to delve into German beers more...figure go to the master of brewing then!

You should model a cultist with a mug of grog in hand!  lol

Mason rocked out some 11% cider for us when I was over last. Quite tasty   ;D

Oh I love Cider...sadly I have allergies to it so I can only have it in small doses...the only thing on the plus side is the apples have been processed so that makes the allergies less serve to me...the rawer the apple, the worse it is.

On the subject of Cultists: I would imagine them to be from the region where the games are set.
So in this case: Yes, they would most likely be Irish.

As for the way the thread has gone today, you would think that we played all of our games in a brewery......

.......not that that would be a bad thing!

In my defence, I did say:

I have been really gentle with them so far, nothing tougher than a Maniac (apart from that one incident with the Blasphemous Construct, but we wont talk about that....).
They will know when it starts to get serious, trust me.
Cider or no cider!

Oh dear. I'm starting to think bringing 33BP to my third game will be a mistake.
Still. Looking forward to seeing some more of your cool minis on the table Mason.

Well, we got three games in tonight:

Legionnaire Bert with a Hound of the Ackervilles Scenario.
smokezombie with The Bagman scenario (33 BP's!)
Gav with a Rescue the Innocents

Pics, AAR, and details to follow soon...

Love this thread. The pics, the stories, the camaraderie... all of it!

Cheers, mate!
The camaraderie is really making a difference.
Especially tonight, where the games were getting a little tense!
And welcome back to the fold.
You have been away for a while.

So that means more nice pictures!!

It certainly does!

There were three games played, but the only one that I have pictures of are the first game involving Legionnaire Bert's team from the Thames Valley Division, led by Aubrey Werther-Minte.

It was the Hound of the Ackervilles scenario, with the men from the Ministry attempting to lead Dr Ackerville to safety off of the Lurker table edge.
Unfortunately for the good Doctor, he had been cursed with the attentions of a Demonic Hound, who would keep returning to the fray, even death would not deter it!

The table that we were be playing on, representing the abandoned and crumbling church where the Curse was first placed on the Doctor by a vengeful woman who subsequently hung herself:

The Lurker team, led by a Druid and his pet vermin were spread out in the ruins of the church, awaiting the arrival of the Ministry Agents.

There were also several members of the Cult of the Purple-headed Worm lurking in the shadows, guns loaded and ready to ambush the Agents!

Meanwhile the Hound itself was further forward, eager to get it jaws on its victim.

The men and woman of the Thames Valley Division approached the church from the woods, weapons in hand, ready to protect Dr Ackerville from the attentions of the Hound that they could hear howling deafeningly in the ruins...

One of the Agents Isaac Ite, spotted the Hound in the ruins and bravely charged forward, guns blazing.

He managed to hit it twice, causing a wound, and seriously angering the hellbeast!

The two-headed Hound flew out the ruins, howling its rage from both of its mouths and clamped it jaws around the arms of the brave Isaac.

Isaac fought bravely for some time before succumbing to the beasts rage, buying valuable time for his comrades.

Aubrey had ordered some of his people to stop the Hound, while the rest entered the church grounds and attempted to get the doctor to safety.

Unfortunately for the agents sent to stop the beast, another of their number fell to its slavering jaws.

While Aubrey himself dragged the doctor towards safety, the Agents were having serious problems with the Hound.
Having taken down two Agents already, it pounced on a third!

Seeing a third of his companions being savaged by the beast proved too much for Agent Enfield, who collapsed to the floor catatonic.

With the rest of the team down or out of action, it fell to Aubrey to take down the beast as it ran towards them, eyes fixed on its prey.

With a calmness that was becoming his trademark, he shot the beast between its two heads and it dropped to floor, fading out of existance before his eyes!

Herding the doctor into the church and, hopefully, safety, he froze in his tracks as he heard the terrifying howling begin again, ahead of him!

Aubrey and the doctor fled into the church, heading for the door at the far end.
The howling seemed to be getting closer.

As they were almost within reach of the exit, the howling, getting closer, reached fever pitch.
Turning towards the ancient crypts in the centre of the church, Aubrey felt as if the blood was freezing in his veins.
The Beast had returned and was climbing over the tombs and heading directly for the doctor!

As the beast was readying itself to pounce on the terrified man, more shapes emerged from the shadows, revealing armed Cultists with their weapons pointed at Mr Werther-Minte.
Things were begining to look really bad!

As Aubrey attempted to gun down the Cultists blocking their path, he heard the final screams of the doctor as the Hound finally completed its mission and tore him limb from limb......

Despite the best efforts of Aubrey and his team, the Curse of the Ackervilles had reached its final, gory conclusion....

Oh if only Basil Rathbone & Nigel Bruce had been there! That aside, despite the early-morning-waiting-for-the-coffee-to-kick-in fog, it was a FINE REPORT to read & the photos were GLORIOUS. YET ANOTHER WELL DONE!

A tough scenario that one. Think I'll have to leave the Quest scenarios until I've got a bit tougher all round. Alas, poor Regina Rash is no more - she will be gone, not forgotten, but replaced! May have to spend some of my map pieces on a medic...
