COOL NEW WHEELS! I took my road test for my driver's license in my Great Uncle Eddie's Duesenberg "J"...there's quite a story to that one.

Thanks, DeafNala!
A story?
Interesting.....

Love the new vehicles. I only own five myself. Now I'm jealous.  ;D

Thanks, aggro!
I still have a few more to do and smokezombie has found a classic.
Now I just have to convince him that he does not really want it........ ::)

Great works again Mason!

The superb SA project continues a-pace. Can't wait to see your new Blasphemous Construct 'in the flesh'...provided someone else is facingit...Gav? Mr Zombie? Lockswin? Any volunteers...?

I think that is only fair, as you did face the last one and had a seriously worried look on your face during the last game every time the syringe came out...
 ;)

Time to move away from the vehicles for a bit.
There are a few more to do, but I managed to get the new experiment finished , so here it is.

The Carnivorous Plant!

Susie the Sunflower is the new pet of the Mad Scientist's at the Asylum.

I will be using the Shambler rules for this little lady, I think they will work pretty well.

Little lady?
Not quite so little.
Here is a comparison pic with one of her creators:

She has a pretty voracious appetite, so when she says: 'Feed Me!', you had better be listening!

Hope that you like her.... ::)

Where did you get that plant monster? We may have to get a database together of Plant creatures for the next issue about to hit with Test Island #3.

styx: She is from the Horrorclix range (Tendril Queen).
A slight conversion, as she had a fella in her grasp ready to eat him, but he looked a very odd specimen (and too small), so I clipped him off and repaired the damaged area with Green Stuff and added a couple of extra GS tendrils to flesh her out.

FLOWER POWER!...sorry; I was having a '60s moment. I LOVEthe new Floral Fiend; very cool mini & a fine bit of painting. She looks like she'd get on well with my Mushrooms...I may have to expand my botanical creations. That aside, VERY WELL DONE!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

I think that she would indeed have a very fruitful relationship with your Mushrooms.
Bearing that in mind, this may have to go a little further... ;)

Thanks, obsidian3d!
They are readily available on ebay (in the UK, at least).
Just do a search for 'Horrorclix Tendril Queen.'

It would be best to wear your Lucky Kilt then, methinks!

That did make me chuckle.

As a little update as to the proceedings of our campaign, we have another new player.
Tom the Bastard has been inducted into the Cult!

He popped over last night with the intention of playing a game to see if he liked it.
He most certainly did and ended up playing three!

His first game was the standard Fight scenario, to keep it simple and learn the rules.
Up against a bunch of mediocre Cultists, he managed to win this without any serious injuries, and picked up a Map Piece for his troubles.

His second game was Retrieve the Artifacts, where he won but struggled a little, but his Character came good with the obligatory Service Issue Sword, felling Cultists with gay abandon!
He managed to search two boxes during the game, finding a Scroll in one and the Cult's dirty underwear in the other!
Another injury was sustained in this one, with one of his Agents developing Claustrophobia.
Things were getting interesting!

For his final game the dice came up with Monster Hunt.
As he had a 17 BP team at this point this caused a little angst, as my Lurker collection does not have anything in it at roughly that level.
We ended up having to use a Shambler with 5BP's worth of upgrades.
This was going to one tough bugger.

It was a very tense game, for Tom at least, as the Shambler finally managed to pin the team down.
They had been trying to trap the creature in a crossfire, avoiding getting into close combat with the beastie.

It took them a while but, deciding that they would eventually be backed into a corner, they advanced to surround the monstrosity.

To further this, Pat the Postal Worker, a Civilian, had to be sacrificed for the greater good.
Pat went along all too willingly, even going into a Frenzy and charging the beast to prove his worth!
Unfortunately for Pat. it was not to be his day.
He did buy the team valuable time to get everyone into position, though, and the whole team opened fire at close range.

The Character was the star of the show, using his Heroic skill to shoot three times with his .45, he managed to score a Critical and then rolled a '6' for wounding resulting in a score of '10'.
Enough to take off all of the creature's wounds and force an Injury Roll!
Unluckily for the plucky leader he rolled pretty dismally for the Injury, and coupling that with the Shambler's Tough skill, did nothing to it.
At least he had taken the additional Wounds away, though.

It was then the turn of the Agent with the Thompson, who let rip with a hail of lead, managing to wound, injure and finally kill the beast!

It was a very close-run thing.
If only one of those guns ahd been off target, things could have been very different, with the Shambler ripping through the team in close combat.

The end of the game saw Pat the Postal Worker die from his injuries, allowing the team to re-equip.
The team has since had another Agent and a Civilian added to it, making it five strong.
They are also now bristling with weapons, with another Tommy Gun, a double-barreled Shotgun and a Meat Cleaver thrown into the mix, and a new BP of 27.

The opposition in their next game should prove a little tougher...

Glad you had a good evening with TTB, Mason! I was convinced he'd love the game once played. 8) Has anyone ever tried Strange Aeons and not loved it? Haven't met anyone yet...

That shambler sounds like a nasty critter! Lovely mini, too - the whole thing reminds me a little of the Librarian in Discworld (one for the Pratchett fans :)).

I wouldn't mind a crack at that fella myself - looks inneresting!

COOL REPORT & PHOTOS;even considering the Early Morning Effect that was a fine narration. VERY WELL DONE!

I really like the Shambler, but now that you, Bert that is, mention it, there is a resemblance...just don't say the "M" word.

Not yet, mate.
Everybody seems to love the system.
In fact, he likes it so much, he tells me that he has ordered the rulebook today!

He does have a touch of the Orangutan going on, doesn't he?

You shall, my good man, have no fear on that one!

He's a cracking mini. The moss and vegetation on his body really set him off ( as would a flamethrower when someone gets one).

TTBs quite lucky really. One more point and he could have been facing a winged nightmare!
Move 10 Con 7 and 6 Wounds.... No thanks.

What did the 5 points of upgrades get used on?

Lovely AAR and pics as usual Mason.
