"....whenever a Maniac appears on the table.
Put two down and its wet trousers time!"

Cheers, smokezombie!
I am being totally honest that Bert was just happy to win.
Things could have been so much worse if it was not for a few of the team pulling off some truly heroic actions at just the right time.
That Medic of his really pulled his arse out of the fire, not only winning the game for him, but saving Aubrey from a Major Injury roll.
(Which Bert rolled to see what he would have got. A result of DEAD! would have been sustained!)
As the drugs: I am not sure that will help... :D

Right then, the thoughts of Chairman Bert in repsonse to the above, in order 8).

First off, what a cracking good game! Truly tense - not to mention deeply painful to the ladies and gentlemen - and mainly the ladies! - of the Thames Valley branch of M.O.O.S(E).  I always enjoy games against the Mason, as he's a fun and easy-going opponent (when he hasn't got either a teddy-wielding maniac or a Blasphemous Construct clutched in his paws :o) and this game was no exception. We laughed (when his suicide cultist took his job title a little too literally - well, I laughed anyway! lol), we cried (when Aubrey Wurther-Minte got taken off the table - well, I cried, anyway :'(), we hurled (looking at the state that evil maniac left poor Gloria Stitts in - well, I felt sick, anyway!  o_o). Great game though (and apologies to Wayne's World for the last comments...).

One maniac is ALWAYS enough in my opinion! That frickin' lunatic cow with the teddy bear and bad hair day has been the bane of the Thames Valley Division on many an ocasssion, and I am always happy to see her go down in a hail of lead or a flurry of sword blows! Quite a comedic moment when Father de Betta steamed over to her when she was down and delivered a coup de gras by taking a running kick at her chops with his church-issue boots! Quite a sturdy set of Dutch brogues he wears; teeth everywhere afterwards... ;D As for that teddy, it's deceptively lethal - bloody thing's got those sharp little black eyes; a well-placed blow from that can open you up from armpits to appeitite! :o.

Thanks to Smokezombie for the kind words of consolation! Mason's right though, come the end I was just releived to come away from it all with my team 100% intact. I lost everyone but Special Agent Dr Post-Humours and feared the worst. Thanks to the good doctor's superlative surgical skills Aubrey was saved from certain death! (The dice don't lie...). I was lucky that Gloria Stitts survived, as her death would have been painful - she's an absolute artist with the Tommy Gun, and would be much missed (I would be very sad to miss out on the sight of Gloria Stitts on the gaming table...). And having her survive was reward in itself, so I don't feel too aggrieved to have won yet not got anything to show for it in terms of map pieces or skills. I will take her survival as a skill in itself!

Hero of the hour definitely falls to the good doctor. In the heat of battle Mason's forgotten that the doc first actually took out a cultist with a shotgun before confronting the cultist leader - who popped round the corner of the car and let off three shots from the tommy gun at the doc, none of which did any damage! Incensed by this on top of the loss of the team, the doc flew at the cult leader and grappled valiantly with him for several turns, neither combatant able to get a decisive blow on the other until the doctor, with his superior grasp of the human anatomy (placing a crunching blow from his knee in the right place beneath the cult leader's robes to crush his 'happy place') he was then able to bury his best surgical blade up to the hilt in his foe's chest, skewering his black heart and thus winning the day! The doc is an absolute hero, and I have happily paid my last two map pieces in order to keep him on the team for another couple of games. He's worth every bit of those pieces!

And don't be a fool Mason - the drugs ALWAYS help!  lol

Another close shave for the Thames Valley Division. This reputation for wrecklessness will have to be reigned in, otherwise I can't see myself having a team very long!

(Plans are afoot to start putting together a back-up team, just in case things go horribly Pete Tong any time soon...It will have a more martial bearing....hmmm, Marshall Bering - could be a good name for the character!).

If I ever head back to the UK on holiday, I'm SO bringing a squad.  The stories you tell keep me excited about SA!

You are more than welcome, sir, just let me know when/if you coss the pond.
 :D

Bert: Wise investment, that Medic!
You had better keep him on the staff for as long as possible...you never know when a Maniac is just around the corner.

Tim

I am sorry to have to inform you of this, Tim, but Gloria's sister, Norma, was killed in action some time ago.
Dont worry, though, Bert has a list of suitable lady Agents waiting in the wings to replace any further female casualties.

But her mammary would linger on?

Mason- this is an astounding thread which seems to have captured everyone's imagination. Truly a phenomenon. Amazing sums it up.

Thanks, Bezzo!
And thanks again for your contribution.
 :)

Hoping to get a couple more Mad Scientists finished today.
Lets see if that happens...

Edit Sums it up without the "it"

I finally got some time to knock another Zombie along the Production line.
This fella is 'Zed, just Zed' from the new Heroes and Villains line from LAM miniatures.

Not the best of paintjobs, (the Prof is going to do the miniature much more justice, no doubt), but as it is a Zombie and one of twenty (at least) that I need to complete, I am not unhappy.
He has been painted alongside another LAM miniature that is almost finished and will be the next addition to the Mad Scientist's staff.

I may well have overdone the blood splatters, but hey ho...

Top one fella.. He looks nice and cuddly.. Who doesn't love a good zombie  :D

Ive actually missed the heros and villans line. You've just caused me to spend more money Mason. I'm looking forward to seeing the horde of zombies when they are done.

The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."

Zed is VERY COOL...considering his condition, he could hardly be anything else. The skin tones are suitably unhealthy looking, & the base is a nice contrast to the mini. VERY WELL DONE!

In comparison to quite a few of the "dripping gore" Zombies around, your blood splatters are almost conservative...almost.

Here is the other LAM fella who will be joining thestaff at the Asylum, providing some serious firepower.

A highly detailed miniature, and great fun to paint.

Carrying a .30 Caliber machine gun, he will give the Mad Scientists a bit of punch at long distance.

Hope he gets your approval.
If not....I dont think he cares!

It's sort of a Frankenstein meets Rambo mini...Sylvester Stallone would look good with bolts in his neck. At any rate, you did a FINE job painting The Creature up...I love the blue eyes. GREAT WORK!

Thanks, superflytnt!
I have a couple more from this range to add, but one of them will have to wait until I get my Shocking Tales 3, as he will  be a psychic.
The other, Dr de'Ath-Naylor, should be done soon (ish...).

My thoughts exactly regarding the Rambo likeness.
Should be fun for the players, coming up against a mobile .30 Cal.... ::)
