Keep up with the sculpting mate, they are looking grand so far  8)

What are the dollies made from, they look to be white metal  ???

Thanks, James!
The dollies are indeed white metal.
I bought a bulk load of them on ebay.
The seller said that he thought that they were by Jeff Valent...no idea if this is correct.

VERY ATMOSPHERIC Gaming Board...I'm trying to avoid calling everything "COOL".
Congratulations on your victory over the Forces of Strange Dancing & Other Unpleasantness.

Thanks, Al!
Morris Men certainly need to be kept in line!

Fixed that for you. I'm going to have to fly out one of these days and have a pint or six with you and play. Seeing that stout is making me SO thirsty...doc gave me meds for vertigo I have to take daily, no booze, and I've been drier than a desert wind for a year or so now. UGH

Thanks, superflytnt!
I have a feeling that a few pints with you would be a most entertaining passtime.
If you are ever around, just let me know.

No booze? I shed a tear for you when I read that fella.  :'(

Thank you, Mr Wolf!
I am only in the learning process, but hope to get better as time goes by.
I hope to get some more time to finish off these fellas soon and then move on to some more 'interesting' SA-related miniatures.
 :)

AAR should be up in the next couple of days, with a different terrain set-up to those previously seen... ;)

Right, time for that AAR!

As I mentioned in the M.O.O.S.(E). Divisional Records thread (which does contain a spoiler regarding this particular AAR, so do not read it until after. You have been warned!), Bullock took the Devon Yeomanry out for a field trip to Milton Abbot, a few miles west of Dartmoor.

It had been reported to them that the Evil Dr Jarse and his Asylum Staff had been spotted in the area.
In fact, not only had they been spotted, but Mrs Miggins, their tame psychic and tea lady at their Headquarters in Exeter had said that she could feel the 'Restless Dead' crying for help in the area.

Armed with this 'information', they headed to the Special Equipment store and collected the Net Gun and Tranquiliser serum.

They were going to try where other Divisions had failed.

They were going to attempt to grab themselves a live Zombie!

Here is the initial terrain set-up, a quiet part of Milton Abbot just after sunrise.

Lord Bullockus of Asparagus knew that they were on to something when he spotted a flash Town Car parked right next to the War Memorial.
Hardly the type of vehicle you would expect to find in a quiet village on the edge of the Moor...!

When rolling to see he would have which edge we managed to come up with the result required for Random Deployment.
This should be fun, as we had never had that before.
The potential for all sorts of difficulties is a good thing in my book.
 :D

Here are the starting positions of the two sides at the start of the game:

Here is a slightly modified picture showing a little more clearly where the starting positions were.

The Agents are marked with a RED dot and the Lurkers by YELLOW
As you can see, most of the Asylum forces, the Mad Scientist and his Guards, began the game fairly centrally placed on the board.
The M.O.O.S.(E). Agents, meanwhile, had been forced to set up in two seperate pairs, one pair at either end of the table.
The two YELLOW dots in the top left of the picture are to indicate where the two Zombies began, behind the building but very close to one group of Agents.

Unfortunately for the forces of His Majesty, the Net Gun was in the possession of the Agent with the Shotgun, on the opposite side of the board!

Back with the rest of the report later....

The table setup looks particularly good this time Mason, the war memorial really adds to the British village flavour.

Some roads/ lanes are needed now me thinks...

Also the local post box..

and lamp posts..

and did they have phone boxes the mid 20s?  :D

The rest shall follow later.
Lets see if your thoughts match what really happened....

Thanks, mate, I agree that the War Memorial made by Bezzo certainly adds to the flavour.
Here is a nice shot of it, showing the Mad Scientist at the start of the game:

As for the other points that you made:
Roads, lanes were ordered last night. I was going to make some but thought that my time would be better served elsewhere, so ordered them instead.
The Post Box is another thing that must be added to the set-up ASAP.

...and did they have phone boxes the mid 20s?  :D

They certainly did.
They were first introduced in the 20's:

Phone Boxes, both standard red and Police blue varieties are waiting for the paint brush and I will finish them off soon....
 :D

As for lamp posts, there are some on the board:

Maybe not the right type, but they will do.
 ;)

Nice set up! Really must give my rules a run.

Thank you, sir!
You should, Mr Wolf, you should.
You wont regret it, it is a great game!

Mason top effort fella - I'm really starting to get the inspiration to finish the other 5 figures I painted!

I shall endeavour to photo and add my 3 new MOOSE operatives to your blog.

As for the asparagus I've almost forgotten why I got called that in the first place oh so many years ago...!

Thanks, aggro, but it has only just started.....

Here is the rest of it:

The set up had been completed, and due to the nature of Random Deployment, it was going to be difficult for both sides.

The Agents of the Ministry had been caught unawares and were in two seperate groups. Their leader, Lord Asparagus was at one end of the table with the Agent who was carrying the Net Gun, whilst the other two members were at the other end with the Tranquiliser.
This would mean that only half the team would be able to act each turn unless they could link up.

The problem for the Mad Scientist and his Minions was slightly different.
The Mad Scientist himself was in the centre of the table with two of his Guards within Command reach and another, with the Tommy Gun, was a little further away.
His biggest problem was that his pet Zombies were a long way away with a couple of interfering Agents between himself and them.
Keeping them safe and out of the hands of M.O.O.S.(E)., was going to be difficult!

A re-cap of the starting positions:

A shot showing the trouble that Lord Asparagus himself would be in if the Asylum goons got the frst turn.....:

....Which they did!

Snatching the initiative, the Mad Scientist ordered his Guards to open fire on the leader of His Majesty's forces.

Lord Asparagus did not feel too threatened, as the Mad Doctor opened fire with his .45, missing completely, before fleeing towards the Zombies which he needed to protect, leaving his minions to hold off any pursuit.
The only Asylum Guard within range only had a .22, so was no serious threat.
Or so the Man from the Ministry thought.....
The goon opened fire and managed to pull off a lucky hit, inflicting a Critical on the team leader!
Lord Asparagus was lucky, as he managed to soak up the fire, but was now bleeding profusely and down to his last wound.

Deciding that discretion was the better part of valour, the team leader ordered his companion with the Net Gun to lead the way and head away from the gun-toting Guards and head around the building and try and outflank the enemy and reach the target: The Zombies.

At the other end of the table the other two Agents were in danger of being gunned down themselves, as a Guard with a double-barrelled Shotgun approached them, opening fire as he did so:

Meanwhile, the Mad Scientist had managed to get within Command reach of the Zombies and summoned them to him:

The Scientist got within reach of the first Zombie and attempted to inject F5 serum into it and quickly stepping back to wait for it to take effect.....and waited...and waited.
Nothing happened!
Another duff dose.

The shootout continued in the centre, with the other Agent moving up to help his companion

...as the Guard with the .22 joined his fellow.

(At this point I forgot to take further pictures as the action got quite tense...Doh!  Sorry!)

To sum the rest of the action up, the gunfight between the Agents and the Guards went badly for the Government men, as both went down to Major Injuries!

Meanwhile, seeing that the Mad Scientist had reached the other zombie and was about to attempt to inject him, Lord Asparagus made a desperate charge, utilising his Heroic skill to enter combat and swiftly dispatching the crazy Doctor with his Service Issue Sword!

This evened things up considerably, as the Lurkers could now only activate one model per turn, but the Ministry were terribly outnumbered...

While his leader was eliminating the opposing leader, the remaining Agent managed to take a shot at a Zombie with the Net Gun but failed to ensnare it.
Damn!

The Lurkers retaliated by moving up their Tommy Gunner so that he would be able to target the enemy as soon as possible.

Lord Asparagus advanced and grabbed the Tranquiliser from where it had been dropped by one of his downed companions and advanced on the Zombie that his fellow had finally managed to trap.

Unfortunately for him, just as he injected the Zombie, he was downed in a fusilade of lead as the Tommy Gunner opened fire!

It was now down to the last Agent standing.

Mr Fudd had to make a choice beteen shooting and dragging the comatose Zombie away.
He decided to take vengeance for his fallen leader and blasted the Tommy Gunner into oblivion at close range before grabbing the Net and dragging the Zombie away.

He survived several shots as he clumsily manhandled his prize to safety.

The Ministry had won, but at what cost......?

Thanks, obsidian3d!
No need to hate them, you can have your own.
Everything on that table, except for the wonderful War Memorial that Bezzo made, is commercially available: hedges, trees and as they were when bought, cars are Matchbox Yesteryear, and the buildings are all from the em4 Farm (a great buy, so useful and already painted).
Nothing stopping anyone doing exactly the same thing... ;)
