I love it, Mason. Just as is, too. It's completely and totally brilliant, and I'm absolutely stealing the idea.

VERY COOL! It could also be a "Catching-some-rays-in-the-Slum" Vignette...or not.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Thanks, superflytnt!
Steal away, it is a fairly easy thing to do and I think it looks quite effective.

You been sampling them there 'shrooms again?

Thanks, Za!
Go for it.

Here is a shot of the Spawning template with a few 'live' Zombies for scale.

I shall see about some better photos showing it in situ over the weekend.

Oooooh!! I like. Are you going to add any blood to it?

Top AAR as usual fella.

The sickle in the fruitful field;
The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."

Lovely work, you could also use it as a casualty base.  I love the little details like the flowers . . .

Thank you, Mr Wolf!

That looks like a CD used as a base? I trust it was a CD by the Grateful Dead?  ;)

 lol
It is.
A CD, that is.
Not The Grateful Dead.

Mason - your work continues to be exemplary and in our comments we have used up all the superlatives known to Man. All I want, like Oliver Twist, is more. It is utterly addictive and should carry a Health Warning. Maybe something along these lines:

"Caution: Seeing Mason's work may make you dissatisfied with your own efforts for life" lol lol lol

Oh, Bezzo!
You are such a flatterer.
I am sure that I must be blushing.

Cheers, mate!
I dont think that I will as I dont think it really needs it.

Flowers can help disguise a multitude of sins.... ;)

I have the first scenario written up and will post it later for your perusal....

Re: M.O.O.S.(E)- Ministry of Occult Studies (England) UD:14/04 Scenario #1
« Reply #1523 on: 14 April 2013, 01:13:33 PM »
Having been given the approval of Uncle Mike (well, he did not say it was crap at least...), here is the write-up for Scenario #1.

................................................................................................

Scenario #1: Entering the Infected Zone

The team left their vehicle behind in an attempt to enter the area as silently as possible.
As they made their way down the road towards the village they all began checking their weapons again for the umpteenth time.
Nerves were starting to fray as the ominous, unnatural silence began to pray on their minds.
As the sound of scuffed shuffling and moaning carried to them for the first time, the hair on their necks began to stand on end.
They were not alone, after all...

Requirements: None

Lurkers: Only Zombies (of any type, including dogs and skill upgrades) can be used in this scenario.
For every 5 Zombies of the same type, the Lurker player will  receive a Spawning Point (See Special Rules).
This must be placed in the Lurker deployment zone.

Set up:  The Lurker player sets up the table and chooses table edge, setting up up to five inches in.
The Threshold player then sets up at the opposite edge, again up to five inches in.
The Threshold edge is considered Enclosed.

Special Rules:  Spawning points can be represented in any way that you wish, but should be based on a CD-sized template.
They follow exactly the same rules as Nests .

Starting the game:  Both players roll a dice. Highest score goes first.

Ending the game: The game continues until all models from one side have been removed from the table, or all surviving Threshold models move off of the table via the Lurker edge.
The game is considered a ‘win’ for Threshold if more than half of the starting number of models escapes.

...............................................................................

Scenarios two and three have been written, but will not be played until after Salute.
I am scheduled to meet up with Bert the week following to continue the Dossier.

I will post each of the scenarios in the Dossier as they are playtested. and again, all together, at the end.
This way anyone can have a go at this Black Dossier if they feel the inclination.

Let me know what you think.

Like the template Mason! Good that you've written up the scenario, too. I think I misunderstaood a bit and thought that once I was unable to win, I couldn't leave the table with my surviving agents. Don't think it made any difference to the outcome of either of my unsuccessful first two games, to be honest.

Just a thought, but a few of the dead on the template emerging from the soil would look cool on the template 8). Your quick and easy one does the job though mate, no doubt.

No such thing as 'unable to win', mate.
The dice can always go in your favour.
And it would have made no difference as having less team members about is not going to help, is it?

That would work fine if it was a Graveyard scene, but this is just meant to represent a few dead bodies laying around.
Are they 'infected' or just dead...and why?

Here is a better idea of how the template will look in use.

The Agents of M.O.O.S.(E). are confronted by the Walking Dead as they leave the 'safety' of the woods.

I hope that gives a better idea of how it will look.

It could be even a plague tile, infecting members of the team as they get closer, like the colour out of space.

I must confess, I had to look that one up but when I did, it made me chuckle.

Good idea, Oldben1.
Thank you for the suggestion.
