GONK DROID!  COOL! o_o

Thanks, Oldben1!
I do see your point with the  o_o

It may sound a little strange, having a Gonk in my Strange Aeons project, but I thought the basic look of it fitted well in the retro-robot theme of this group.

They should be pretty versatile as they can be used as simple 1pt Lurkers, scenery, objective markers (think Retrieve the Information  ;)) or just as a randomly moving annoyance, which could be fun.

Actually, thinking about it, the whole robot thing may seem strange, but I see M.O.O.S.(E). as getting all the 'unusual' jobs that would not be covered by other organisations, so a group of terrorists utilising cutting-edge robotic technology would fit the bill nicely.

You could use a lot of the droids from Star wars.  C3P0 is based off the femal robot from Metropolis a film made at the end of the 1920's.

I have a few others and even repainted an R4 unit at the same time as these, but it just did not look right, whereas I think these can get away with it as they are such a basic shape.

Thanks, DeafNala!
Your responses never cease to entertain.

I have two more robots finished and will post them later.
I also have a few more to collect from a fellow LAFfer at Salute tomorrow.

After that, well, I think that will be enough, dont you....?

Here are the 'Bots mentioned previously.
Rather appropriately, given the date, they are two examples of the Retro/Pulp Robot given away at Salute 2010.

First up is a standard version of the giveaway Bot, mounted on one of the standard bases used for this project rather than the original diorama base provided.

And here is a lightly converted version, arms and legs bent slightly and head clipped off and repositioned with the addition of a longer neck, to give a pose that is a little different.

And both of them posing with Dr Otto Mayted

Many thanks to Gutbukkit and Inso for these, as this just happens to be the only Salute that I had not attended in the last dozen or so years, so I had to plead on the Bazaar for samples.

Here's hoping that you like them.

There is something SO appealing about the Retro Robot Guys; these are no exception. VERY WELL DONE!
Is Dr. O a Rackham/Confrontation Dwarf?

I could not agree more.
That is why there will be more joining them.

Thanks, styx!
Much appreciated.

Here is a pic of the 'Bot group so far.

Five more were recently purchased painted, so waiting to get hold of them and rebase them to fit this lot.
I also picked up several BCB Robbie the Robot's from Mr Marx at Salute yesterday, so they will be added too.

I saw this and was reminded of Rattrap's Pulp Robots. Retro, indeed.
Great collection so far...

Bloody hell, sir!
Those are amazing!
 :-* :-* :-*

Retro?
Better than that.
They look like welders masks with limbs.
Love 'em!

As usual, amazing stuff! I like the look of those bots as well...very much different than what I've seen out there.

Now, To Whom It May Concern: Rattrap doesn't sell any miniatures (anymore?) so who besides Bob Murch (http://pulpfigures.com/products/view/55) sells pulp robot figures?
