Seeing the spray of blood that erupted from the head of the faithful clergyman the rest of the team then failed their subsequent Resolve checks.
Yes, ALL of them!

.......good old Bert! Reliably unreliable.

Each pile of crates that they came upon was efficiently searched by the Postie, his sorting skills obviously playing a major part in their sucess, and the contents ferried back to a point of safety.

Good to see that you both picked up on that one.

I will post up the proper details for the Scenario later, in case anyone fancies trying it out for themselves.

"... good old Bert! Reliably unreliable.  lol "

I actually can't argue that one! Having the whole team down in one turn was unreal! I am only lucky that there weren't any zombies in range to really take advantage (being diddled by the undead whilst in no position to defend one's honour is no matter to be taken lightly! :o)

All came good in the end, but I was very concerned early doors that I'd be re-playing this scenario with a weakened team; as it was Aubrey and Remy got in the bacon butties without major loss to any of the downed casualties. It turns out the good father only had a minor wound; that spray of blood everyone thought they saw was actually the rat chomping down on his bacon saries, squirting ketchup everywhere! Needless to say Father de Betta didn't bother to eat the half-eaten sarnie afterwards...

A tense game, but another winner from Mason ;)

Great stuff! I should send a transcript of this mission to Canada Post...see if I can't get my rates lowered since the postie is painted in such a positive light (and such a nice paint scheme...).

Could it have been any worse a start for the Agents of the Crown?

It could have been raining!
Now that I've gotten that out of my system, that was a SPLENDID, SUSPENSEFUL Report with WONDERFUL Photos. Could it possibly be better...without playing in The Game?

Good work Bert old chap!

And huzza for the PO lad!

Looks like a cracking set up Mason. I'm feeling the itch to play again.

The sword he sung a song of death,
But could not make the sickle yield."

You did well to come out of there with no casualties, considering you pretty much began the game with everyone either down or out!
In fact, out of the Major Injury rolls that were made, Gloria got the worst result with Multiple Injuries, but then managed three Full Recovery results.
Now THAT was a result!

A tense game, but another winner from Mason ;)

Thanks, mate!
Too right it was tense, but I think it turned out to be very balanced.

Good luck with that idea!

You know what to do if you want a game.
Your team are not too far away from their Black Dossier....

I thought you would approve of the Postie.

Cheers Mr Zombie! We must have a game soon, mate.

The Black Dossier is turning out to be really good fun to play in, and the scenarios are striking the right balance by and large (although Mason and I are fully on board with each other that the games are a bit experimental in nature, so we're allowing for that). Mason's doing a bang up job with these so far, and now we're almost halfway in I'm looking forward to what the remainder has in store. Still fairly convinced I may not make it out alive (my agents, anyway ;D) but feeling a touch more optimistic than I was :). All very enjoyable, anyway - Strange Aeons is simply a brilliant game, so it's hard not to have fun even when you take a mauling. I may not be saying that come the next scenario - I shall leave the erstwhile Mr Mason to supply details...

A small note on what makes SA the fun and challenging game that it is. For me, it is the command rule for nomination and Resolve tests. Both have a crucial effect on the game, as evidenced by my tussle with the giant rat - one minor casualty and the whole team can suffer. Brilliant. (I can say that now with the rose-tinted goggles of having won and received neary a scratch in return! Lucky, lucky Aubrey...).

Totally agree with you, mate.
And, yes, Aubrey and the team were lucky in this game, injury-wise.

Thanks, Mr Wolf!
I certainly am lucky in that respect, she does not mind being a 'gaming widow'.
At least that means she is free to watch whatever crap she wants on the TV without me interfering.

Not too sure about that, chaps.
I did consider it this year, but I do not think that I could keep up with the hectic schedule.
(That, plus the fact that I am not that good).
Still, it would help to get a lot of figures painted, wouldnt it?
 ;)

Much appreciated.
I have to admit that it was your Scene of Terror with the horses that first gave me the idea of a zombie base last year.

The write-up for Scenario 2 of the Black Dossier.
..........................................................

Scenario #2: Supply Run

The team had desperately fought their way through the hordes of the Infected.
They had not expected the sheer volume of walking corpses that they encountered.
They had been so desperate to break through that they had not even considered the fact that their supplies had been left behind.
Now they were starting to get hungry......and so were the zombies, it seems!

Requirements: Can only be played after the Threshold player has completed Scenario #1.

Lurkers: Only Zombies (of any type, including dogs and skill upgrades) can be used in this scenario.
For every 5 zombies of the same type, the Lurker player will receive a Spawning Point (See Special Rules). This must be placed in the Lurker deployment zone*.

Set up:  The Lurker player sets up the table and chooses table edge.
In addition six batches of ‘supplies’ should be set up on the table, outside of deployment zones and at least five inches apart. Supplies can be represented in any method, but should be clear to both players.

Special Rules:  Threshold models may search batches of supplies for suitable foodstuffs by being in base contact and spending two Actions to do so. Each model may only carry one batch of supplies but suffers no movement penalty for doing so. Supplies may be dropped in the Threshold deployment zone where they will be considered ‘saved’.

Starting the game:  Both players roll a dice. Highest score goes first.
Ending the game: The game continues untilall models from one side have been removed from the table, or the Threshold playermoves FIVE batches of suppliesinto their deployment zone.

*Spawning points can be represented in any way to you wish, but should be based on a CD-sized template.
They follow exactly the same rules as Nests .

...........................................................................

Scenario #3 to follow over the weekend, if I get the time.

Oh, as a zombie gamer, I will certainly try this out myself as soon as I get the chance!

I have missed the first one, but made sure I've found it! What profiles you had in mind as a "zombie" - basic zombie profile, blasphemous construct and zombie dogs only? So no command?
