As I weep for the fallen Threshold Agents, I cannot help but curl my lip into a wry smile knowing that the mutt with the butt, Dr. Hugh Jarse, has likely escaped a fiery death....villains always seem to escape in the nick of time.

This tale has not finished ......Yet!

Awww poor Aubrey!

He certainly had his back to the wall there, I agree.

As I weep for the fallen Threshold Agents, I cannot help but curl my lip into a wry smile knowing that the mutt with the butt, Dr. Hugh Jarse, has likely escaped a fiery death....villains always seem to escape in the nick of time.

The fate of Dr Jarse has not been confirmed yet.
 ;)

Missed it by that much...OH NUBBINS!

It certainly was close.
The whole game could have turned on so many single dice rolls: Serum tests, Construct's Stupid test, weapons Jamming, Fumbles in close combat.
There were so many 1's and 6's rolled it was quite a game.

I weep. I weep for the brave and the burnt. :'(

Lets go again! :-*

That's the spirit!

Bloody hell mason slow down. Your making the rest of us look bad. You also make it hard to take two months off from the hobby. It took me ages to catch up with this thread.

Sweet AARs they all looked great fun to play.

I'm mightily impressed with all of shotgun Bobs new stock, particularly when you see them all lined up like that.

The crow man looks great too...if no one has already ill accept you challenge and take on the pumpkin heads.

I'm looking forward to seeing all these new goodies in the flesh.

But could not make the sickle yield."

That'll learn ya to go gallivantin', wont it?
You can have a butchers at all the new stuff during the week, mate.
It might make you want to get back amongst the SA side of things... ;)

As for your 'challenge': You are on!
 :D

I will let Legionnaire Bert respond to the AAR first before I give you the next update, but I will say that this Black Dossier, and its ending, has led to a completely new development for M.O.O.S.(E). to contend with.....

What, a large-scale recruitment drive? Most of their operatives seem to be a little crispy...

That Black Dossier was certainly quite some set of games! I think I rode my luck long enough, and in the end it just plain ran out.

R.I.P. Aubrey Werther-Minte, Gloria Stitts, Father de Betta, Randy Fellowes, Remington Slide, Postman Patrick, Betty Swallocks, Norma Stitts, Isaac Kyte, Connie Lingus...

 :'(

I think Strange Aeons is the sort of game where ultimately you can't expect to get out alive. Battling the forces of the paranormal is never likely to earn you much of a pension. I really enjoyed the Black Dossier games - thanks Mason - and would highly recommend doing one for any SA players that have not already done so.

I will take a slight break from Strange Aeons for the time being, in it's main form at least, but I am already planning how I can do something different next time around.

It's a great game, and the added storyline of a Black Dossier just makes it better.

It appears that not only M.O.O.S.E. is out of models, but so is the adult film industry. They all sound like porn stars!

Well done, Bert.
A valiant effort.

That was certainly one tough game from your point of view.
Whatever could have gone wrong certainly did.
You had Jammed Thompson's, failed Resolve tests, multiple fumbles in close combat and of course a Blaspemous Construct turning up just when you thought you were home free.

It had all the elements of a great story, shame about the ending.

Aubrey did really well, considering that almost all of the pressure fell on his broad shoulders alone.

Almost, mate, almost...

You summed up the whole Black Dossier experience really well.
I certainly think it adds to the whole narrative element of the game as a whole.

As Bert says: If you get a chance to play a Black Dossier: Do it!

I will take a slight break from Strange Aeons for the time being, in it's main form at least, but I am already planning how I can do something different next time around.

And THAT should prove very interesting indeed.

More details of that later.... ;)

Well, the Thames Valley region will certainly need a recruitment drive.

The other regions are still fully operational, though.

In fact the South-Western Division should be active this week.

A report of any action taken by them will, of course, be forthcoming....

Well, seeing as how the planned game did not happen this week, there is no report to post....

I do need to type up the rules for the Final Scenario of the Black Dossier as soon as possible. but that will have to wait until tomorrow at least.

As it has been a fair while since I painted anything for Strange Aeons I decided to rectify that, using the time where I should have been playing in an effective manner.

I have finally gotten around to painting a figure for my own team: The Metropolitan Division (London).

Being based in London, and charged with the safety of such a large and heavily populated area, they are a large Division, being several times the size other teams in numbers.

One of the Team leaders in the Metropolitan Division is 'Little' Jimmy Bibbs, a huge bear of a man, with the strength to carry and use a .30 Cal Machine Gun on his own!

Originally hailing from 'Oop North', James came to London as a young lad to seek his fortune, and spent some time serving an apprenticeship to a master builder in Brixton before being called up to serve his country in the Great War, during which he showed a natural aptitude with heavy weaponry and unarmed combat.

'Little' James may well be a huge fella, but he is a gentle giant (until angered) and leads his team in a calm and effective manner, but has, on occasion, been known as someone who may well use a sledgehammer to crack a nut just to get the job done.

Known as 'Bibbles' to his friends, he is a well liked, popular member of the Division who loves to go out with for a 'light ale' with his comrades.

More of the team will be painted up eventually, I just could not resist painting this one.
(Sorry for the bad picture, I am struggling for sufficient light at the moment...)

Hope you like him...
