Plenty, mate.
I wish that I could see better in order to paint better, for one!

Since I passed 40 and my eyes decrease, I have purchased a daylight magnifying lamp. You can find some form 40 to 200€
The daylight is very important and the quality of the lens too. I would say around 80-120€ you get something very good.
For me it really save my ability to paint. I recommend it even for people with good eyes.

I do use a daylight bulb.
That coupled with GOOD daylight means I can just about manage.

It may be time to invest in an optivisor.
Or wait for bionics....

I'm waiting for the bionics option so that it also includes a camera

It may be time to invest in an optivisor.
I have been painting with 'assistance' for years... Couldn't do the 20mm and 15mm stuff without it!

I know Optivisor, as a brand, has a big following in the minis-painting crowd. But at the big scale-rail shop out here there is only one brand of binocular headband that gets any shelf space. MagEyes. Perhaps on first pass these don't look as heavy duty as Optivisor, but while they have the same quality of optical elements and the same variety of magnifying strengths, MagEyes deliver two additional superior qualities...

Light Weight. MagEyes weighs less. I tried them both, and hands-down MagEyes is more comfortable because it is lighter. The lightweight design is easier to adjust during use. It also takes up less room to store.

Less Obstructing. MagEyes does not have the all-around cowling featured by Optivisor. This allows you to 'look away' to rest your eyes, to interact with your surroundings and to make better use of the light around you.

I also found MagEyes to be less expensive, but don't know what international shipping would do to that economy...
Television is rather a frightening business. But I get all the relaxation I want from my collection of model soldiers. P. Cushing

Thanks for the tip, Mr P!
I shall be looking into that for certain.
I can see myself asking for one as a birthday or crimbo pressie.
 ;)

It may even help me see to sculpt better.
Not that that would be difficult....

Sculpt number four later.
Dont tell anyone, but this one is......shhh,....female!

She looks dressed and ready to kill!

Wouldn't want to go out with her on a date, mind - whole new definition of 'splitting' the bill! yikes.]

Cheers, fellas!

I sort of got the inspiration for this one from ones of the girls at works who is a bit of a 'hands on' animal lover type who does not mind getting her hands dirty.
She may well kill me if she knew that, though.
 :o

Cast 'em up, cast 'em up, cast 'em up!  :D

No's 5, 6 and 7 are almost done.
I may get them cast up when I reach eight.
Not sure yet.

I def like what I see so far with these and can see the improvement as you are going along. I saw some of them when I was last over but was a bit afraid to touch them!

Are you planning to go back and touch up the first couple or just leaving them as is and pushing forward with new sculpts?

If I was being really nitpicky, I think the female sculpt could do with a bit less bingo wings on the top arms  ;) but working thinner strips of putty will come with more practice. Perhaps trying a bit more finger definition on the hands as well, because when the minis are painted the hands will stand out more due to the skin colours being one of the lightest tones on the model and drawing the eye. Especially as this lot are hooded menaces and won't have a face!

Thanks for the encouragement, chaps.
Most appreciated!

Kitsune: Cheers for the constructive criticism.
 :)

The woman has 'bingo wings' as she is supposed to be wearing a baggy wooly jumper type top.
 ;)

Hoping to get the next three up soon, just need to find the time in amongst all the 1:1 scale work that I am involved in at the moment...

I thought that I should post these pics on here, as it should work perfectly for Strange Aeons now that it is done.
I had finished it some time ago, and thought it would work perfectly as a 'Haunted House' type place for the Agents of His Majesty to investigate.

And: Yes.
It does still need a weathervane.
 ;)

Maybe some pics showing it in use by the Cult or as the 'secret research facility' being utilised by the Asylum are in order.....hmmm......

What do you reckon?
