He needs to be big to lug that machine gun around!
Nice work.
I am not nearly brave enough to try sculpting any thing other than shoggoths and formless spawn.  ;D

Hope the house move wasn't to painful.
I'm still finding forgotten mini's, books etc, in boxes, from when I moved house 4yrs ago.
Anyway the group shot of the thugs looks good. The variation in heights and builds is very subtle, just enough to make a difference.
Excellent work, look forward to seeing more.
Cheers BF.

Cheers, Damon!
Much appreciated.

As for sculpting: Give it a go.
I have to warn you, though: It is addictive!

It is a gradual process, my move, but I have already lost something and that is really infuriting, as I KNOW I saw it less than a week ago.... >:(

Thanks for the comment, I am glad that you approve.

Well, here are the first eight sculpts, with #8 in the middle, Thompson raised.
Here they are, side by side to show their respective heights and what they look like as a group:

Sorry about the piccie, but it has been taken rather quickly on a phone.
 ::)

I think they look pretty good all together.

I have based them on 20mm washers for this group shot, but will be putting them on their integral cast-on bases as soon as possible.
Work continues on the rest of the group with #9, the second member of the Lewis Gun team, almost finished and #10 started upon.

I want to see how many I can get done before sending them off for casting next month.

I would love to hear your opinions of them as a group of ne'er do wells, whether it be a Cult, a group of gangsters or other villains, a lynch mob or gang of post-apoc survivors.
Let me know what you think and also what else could be added to them.

What do you reckon?

Are these your first foray into sculpting complete figures? If so  they are absolutely bloody amazing, if not they're only bloody amazing. Like them a lot, like the variations in height.Along with the variations in height it  would be nice to see a real porker with a beer gut and a tall skinny chap(who didn't quite get into the basketball team).

They are indeed my first attempts.
Before this, the only thing I had attempted was a Missing Link...

Although he is a little bigger than a 28mm human.
More pictures of that are here:

I have a couple more photos taken on the phone camera, but will take some proper pictures later when I get a chance.

Here are the rushed piccies:

They do look like a wild bunch... meaning all the heat they are packing :) Great work on all them, will the #9 be a member of the same cult/gang as well?

Cheers, Antti!
They are pretty well armed, I agree.
The next few additions will be packing a little less 'heat' as #9 is the second to the Lewis Gunner..... and #10 would have trouble lifting a Lewis Gun.
 ;)

And the answer is: Yes, the next few will be members of the same Cult/gang/posse/whatever.

I do have plans for a few things not related to this mob, but want to finish these off first.

The Cult Guys & Gal look GREAT all together & Mama Link is LOVELY! If I wasn't mired in my Fantasy World, I'd be clamoring for castings. GREAT WORK!

I was tempted to add: "Look upon my works, Oh Ye Mighty, and despair."...I guess I just did.

I think they look great. You should feel proud of them mate as sculpting ain't an easy thing to pull off.

Of course, in two years you'll look back and think "god they look primitive"  ;)

In that case the absolutely qualifier in front of bloody marvelous definitely applies.
Not sure why I suggested a porker when you had already produced one, but I'll stick with tall and skinny as my suggestion.

Excellent work Paul! I had a go at pushing putty once, my first attempts didn't turn out anywhere near as good.  That's why there were no second attempts  ;)

Cheers, mate.
I am going to see how many I can make before next month to see how many I can get cast up.

I am considering tall and skinny.
I can say that out of the the next four planned, two are going to be very short and one will be short and bent.... ;)
I guess that leaves room for a tall and skinny specimen.
 :D

I hope that they will be good enough that others will want them too.
 ;)

I will try and get a good piccie of #8 later as I think he has a good bit of character in him.
In fact, one of my workmates told me that he reminded him of Bill Bailey.
Not sure if that is a good thing...
