Finally got round to painting the two water craft from Games of War that I picked up at Salute.
These are really delightful, lightweight resin models. I can't recommend them highly enough. The casting is as clean and crisp as I have ever seen on any resin model. You'd swear they were perfect plastic mouldings if you didn't know they were resin.
And where most wargaming boats resemble floating boxes with a pointy end, these really have a wonderfully maritime look and line.
I hazard that the designer knows real boats, their shape and construction. Because whilst these are obviously not accurate scale models, they do have a very convincing air.
They're cheap too.
In case you're tempted, the smaller one is the Jolly Boat. The big one is the Long Boat. (It has the look of a whaler to me, but never mind. It's brilliant).
As you see, they have good carrying capacity too
