Woo-ho! Telling myself strips of newspaper are more environment friendly than diapers, I spent fiver's, son of Hammers, hygiene money on a box of the finest "WoW:Watch Your Back!"  and a Nieuport 23 (Kibanov) and a UFAG CI. They are already stained with engine noise simulation spittle.

To my question: have any of you WoW aficionados on the forum pimped your game accoutrements any? I am thinking many miniature painters beside myself cannot resits sexing up planes, movement cards, markers and game board a little.

Just a (not very good) repaint of my Dr.1 to fit with my Skytrex Siemens-Schuckert, but more are on the list.

The WoW Yahoo group have lots of links to repaints. Some have even done whole squadrons to suit.
Cheers,

Only just found this thread, sorry but I had to add my comments...

The rules for this game are so easy that within 5 minutes you'll be playing without referring to them at all.
Brilliant! Just because they're easy doesn't mean they're no good: quite the opposite. All your attention is on PLAYING the game.
My 9-year-old son and I have had quite a few games, and its GREAT FUN.
Engine and machine gun noises are almost compulsory.
 lol
Thoroughly recommended.

Update on the planes.

Contents of all Wings of War boxes and booster packs:

Whats on schedule:
April:
Wings of War Game Mat, scheduled as an April release, a gaming surface for duels in extra-thick foam, printed in four colors. There will be two variants (East and West section). The mat will have a size of 68 x 98 cm (27" x 39"), which can be joined together to create the ultimate Wings of War landscape.

August:
Flight of the Giants, which will introduce early bombers and will require any other box for playing, and other two expansions.

September:
The Balloon Busters Expansion Pack will arrive, a boxed set with one balloon model (Drachen Caquot/AE800) and one plane (Nieuport 16). The set will be available in two different versions.

Dezember:
Hit and Run will add airplanes like the SPAD VII and the Aviatik D.I.
Crossfire will bring to the game new aircraft like the Bristol Fighter and the Rumpler C. IV-VII.
The end of the year will see the release of Series 4, including the models Se5a, Pfalz D.III, Breguet XIV - Rumpler C.IV, in three different painting schemes.

I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to update so of the info in the above post...

Flight of the Giants, Hit and Run and Crossfire have all been pushed back to an undisclosed date in 2010.  The Balloon Busters Expansion Pack will be on sell in January of 2010.  You can see photos and preview artwork of all of these over at Wings of War Aerodrome.  They also run lots of contests over there giving away Wings of War prizes.
