New preview, 1/56 Company B M3A3 Stuart
« on: 22 April 2012, 05:47:13 AM »
Company B is pleased to provide a preview of the upcoming 1/56th Scale M3A3 Stuart Tank kit. This kit, designed through a combination of traditional sculpting and 3D prototyping, is highly customizable and will allow you to model several variants of the M3A3 Stuart.

The model has optional side skirts, driver and co-drivers hatches, and a removable upper hull plate.  The kit has a full interior fighting compartment, and the removable upper plate makes painting and detailing this section a treat. This will come in handy on the Recce version of the kit which will be part of the base set.

The turret is modular as well, and can be made with the rear bustle removed or mounted.  the hatches for the turret are also able to be made opened or closed.  The turret will also replace the older closed turrets on our M5A1 and LVTA1 kits upon the M3A3's release.

This kit can be further detailed using our line of decals, crew figures and stowage kits. The M3A3 Stuart kit will soon be in production as we now have our completed masters and they are enroute to JTFM for casting.

Really like the running gear on that ... very nice indeed.

Any chance of a phot of it without the dust shields?

More photos.  Skirts removed

Shots of the interior details. Driver and co-driver seats, driver control levers, radio gear and stowage containers.

Better shot of the benches...

I'm finalizing the Recce turret ring and other parts now.

Fantastic stuff - and thanks for answering my next question ... a recce turret ring is a very good idea given that the interior is so complete.

Thanks,

Well, if folks like the way these kits are set up (interior details, separate hull tops, multiple open hatches, etc) you can expect the next tanks and armored car kits to have the same features where it makes sense. A few of our older kits will also eventually get the same treatment.

I've been wanting to do the whole T-26 series, as we already have the running gear from our older kit. Releasing all the variants would be staggerinng, but if done as a modular set, one or two kits and a few optional part packs could cover all the variants.

Gotta love digital printing :D

I should have pics of the Recce parts this weekend.

Updated images of the Recce Parts and further details added.  The kit will contain parts for both variants. I'm not sure how far forward we can go into the hull for the casting mold, but it will at least be enough to fit some sort of driver and co-driver miniature.
