In Memory Of

         Andreas
Feb 1967 - May 2012

Yesterday I was informed that Andreas died surprisingly.

Although we were not very close during the last years I was shocked. I knew him from school nearly 30 years ago and we met on several parties during that time.

He encouraged me to date a girl which I liked  ( I wasnt very much successful with her ). There are lots of  funny moments to remember. On one party he helped me to extinguish my burning jeans that some drunk idiot set on fire. After school we lost contact. Years later I met him several times on RPG conventions and we started contact again in 1999.

He had such a great impact into my wargaming activity that I probably would not have started gaming again because I was very busy in the 90`s and forgot almost everything about the hobby.

He gave me hints on how to paint miniatures and how to create better scenery. He also encouraged me to write my own rules and he was one of the first people to play the very first version of Triumph and Tragedy.

Andreas also founded a great gaming group down in his basement were I met people who are also members of this Forum like Vikotnik, Doomhippie, Strand, Gilibran, De Pastille and others. People I still see nowadays. We owe you a lot.

Thank you Andreas

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend death and i offer you my sincere condolences.

Perhaps the LAF forum community could send his family something that may have significance that they can remember him by?

Darrell.

Death of a friend is allways sad, but with 45 years it is a real tragedy.

I can only wholeheartedly agree to what Driscoles said. Without Andreas, most, if not all of my gaming-related stuff would never have happened.
I will never forget the evenings in his basement and the kind but ruthless inspiration you got from him through battling against his warbands/armies.
He used to shout RAUS!!!(meaning OUT!!!) when one of your miniatures died on the tabletop.

Simply brilliant. We still do this from time to time, even in everyday situations... lol

Have not seen or heard much of him in recent years, though. I will miss him nonetheless.

Good old Andreas. Those were great days in his basement. He always made us feel welcome and as if we were the best things that happened in his life. And he got me back into the miniature hobby.  :'(

Really sorry to hear that such an obviously nice guy died so disturbingly very, very young.
My deepest condolences to all.
