Actually, I think the sheriff's helmet is too shiny. Needs a purple wash.

 ::)

 lol

I don't know about that, but it certainly got a good polishing ;) lol

Please don't, I nearly cracked a rib laughing last night  lol

Thanks again chaps. We're going to have another bash in a week or two to iron out some of the changes and introduce mounted figures etc.

Also there will be sheep rustling, boar baiting and lots of skirmish game goodness.

And then there's the archery game but I'll let Dr De'ath tell us about that (it's fucking great fun  :D )

cheers

James

Yeah well. I ought to know better than trying to teach an old dog new tricks.  lol

I expect nothing but purple for me when I go to Woking next...

Fantastic game board, excellent figures, brilliant paint jobs - what is there not to like?

Looks like another success from the Bibbly/Malamute/De'Ath stables.

Love some of the Knights. Is the heraldry real or made up?

Meanwhile, the dastardly woodsmen were taking advantage of the nearby ruckus and were trying to steal the local sheep (for what purpose one can only guess...)

But to no avail, they got clean away without a single casualty and F**king Massive John even managed to steal two sheep, one under each arm  ::) A final salute from Bill Crimson (Will Scarlets cousin) was all that was left to us...

Really? Wow so are the woodsmen Aberdonian or Welsh? I really do wonder.

Fantastic looking game  :-* Would love to play something like this! The terrain is just stunning and the paint jobs lovely and clean!

Two thumbs up!

Cheers
Andy

@ JB

Is the actual table surface one of yuour creations?  I'm interested in how it's constructed as I want to try something different to the thick sheets of insulation foam and the lake edge does look very effective.

Are they available to we mere mortals? Or are they still being developed?  :P

Thanks chaps  :)

I've remembered now (it was a late posting last night  lol ). The rules are a bastardised version of the old sci-fi set called 'Kill Zone' that Capt. Blood changed for his Wars of the Roses games and we altering slightly for our games.

cheers

Some more pictures from the game . . .

Crossbowmen take aim at the robber knights as they approach through the village

Some of the robber knights sneak up on the local Lord's men hoping to take them from behind

Close-up of the villainous robber knights as they close in on their unlucky victims

Bill the Spearman tries to ignore the carnage, hoping the fight will pass him by

Vicious street fighting erupts between the rival bands of knights; the original plan to loot the church and make off with the loot is long forgotten by the evil robber knights

Wholesale slaughter ensues with half the local boys falling in the first few rounds of combat

The local lads have had enough and head for the woods with their assailants in hot pursuit (queue the Benny Hill music please)

Meanwhile F**king Massive John and his fellow woodsmen return to the safety of the greenwood with their newly acquired livestock

Having accepted the surrender of the remaining local Knights, the robber knights turn their attention to the woodsmen
and head out of the village, just in time to see them disappearing into the woods

Bill Crimson (2nd cousin to Will Scarlet) bids a cheery farewell to the advancing knights before joining F**king Massive John and the rest of the lads for a hearty meal of mead and barbecued sheep
