Hum, just noticed that the robots (also from Hydra) have not yet been posted to this thread. So yes, I´ve got a five-strong squad of robots plus one converted to carry a heavy raygun/bazooka thingie. Plus the red space-monkeys, of course, and I´ll just press-gang anything I can find in my boxes to act as villains.

Absolutely fantastic stuff  :o

Now I am going to get blind drunk and hide my wallet.  I fear I may empty it by buying even more lead!

Well then, some of you may remember my spring rant on not being able to find decent Space Cats in 28mm scale.

Finally, I broke down and bought some of the Dark Sword Figures. The already hefty 7 Euro price tag had in the meanwhile gone up to 8 Euros apiece, and I will in all probability NOT buy any more (since there are no variant poses, I´ll leave it to this "diplomatic party" of a Prince, Princess (or their variant of the green-skinned slavegirl from Orion, I´m not sure) and two warriors in hardsuits with laser rifles.

Big figures, larger than 40mm for the males. Well sculpted, but very static and marred by some mouldlines. If you consider buying those figures, better check them in the flesh first.

Afterall, a nice addition to the collection, but as said, I´m still wondering what except from temporary insanity made me shell out that amount of cash. I just hope we get a good game out of it.

Chris, you must be the master of the retro look! Really like the cats and your painting.

Yours is much, much nicer, but I had no picture references when I painted them and chose the colours from blurred memories.

Given the fact that he can transform his body to a solid state, he´d better! lol

Everybody loves atomic submarine flying tanks! I really want to build another version, the one that looks like the illicit offspring of a Sikorski S-58 helicopter and a Leopard 1 tank...

Like this one?

(BTW: I read this novel in 1st edition, yes I am that old... ;) ;)  )

I have already looked after the heli model, this design is sooo tempting.

That´s the one. BTW, I mixed up my Sikorskys, this one looks more like an S-55:

The part with the Leopard still stands. :)

Aww, come on. Published in February 1970. Just a bit on the far side of 40? ;) Don´t get me started on age. I went all gloomy as my 29th approached two weeks ago, but hey there, now it´s all fun and games again.

Revell did one in 1/48th scale some fifteen years ago, which I built. It was a Sabena passenger/liaison craft. Nice kit, and not too difficult to build (although I lacked the proper skills back then). So it should be easy to kitbash this type of SHIFT out of this quarter scale S-55 and a 1/72nd scale Leopard.

Guilty as charged - I am turning 48 in December. ;)
The strange thing: When talking about my hobbies I still feel like a teen, only at work I am all business and stern...

Anyway - ooner or later I will do my Shift tank...

Some more figures painted up recently!

Tiny little flying bots. I had to give one a deathray-thingie since one of the claw arms was missing. Not a big deal, and it will work as a commander model or so just fine.

And an alien warrior of undiscernible species:

Plus finally the robots which I painted up for the last LPL, now also shown in this thread:

It´s supposed to be a "mobile version" of the Robot Regent of Arkon. A bit small, and I am thinking of doing a bigger version (20cm base diameter) with a fixed integral light source, better and cleaner lining and painting, more bits and pipes and mounted on a flying base, or a fixed-emplacement variant that could be really big.
