Anyone aware of a company, besides gw, that makes a good assortment of fantasy themed chariots?

Wow, those are nice!

What about any at a smaller scale? I'm thinking along the lines of models usually used for chariot race games such as Circus Maximus. Anything like that for fantasy or is it all the larger 25-28mm?

Iron Wind Metals has the old gorgeous Ral Partha chariots. I'm especially fond of the bear chariot/sled:

I have a hard time thinking up a use for it, but it looks so cool!

hmmm...I noticed that there are some chariots in GWs warmaster line at 10mm. That might work.  Any other companies making 10mm models for warmaster that might have chariots?

Thinking about building an Arena Maximus track.

OK here goes: Hi my name is hammershield and I used to collect GW High Elves.

Phew! Glad to have it off my chest.

Anyway, I am quite partial to the new High Elves White Lion Chariot, however implausible the idea.

I am not much for the elves (or any other GWs) but this looks a bit of the business.

Don't feel ashamed, there was a time when my whole world began and ended with "Bretonnia"

I was Brets and Vampire Counts.

Back on topic, yes that chariot is awesome.  Playing Arena Maximus with 28mm fantasy chariots would be amazing.  However, I'm afraid the track would be far too large (each track piece woul dneed to fit up to 5 chariots AND any terrain).

The shift down to WM scale might work though, but there's a lot less to choose from.

Check out the Hordes & Heroes range from Kallistra:

http://www.kallistra.co.uk/

They have lots of fantasy and historical chariots in 10mm. There must be something in there that floats your boat.

I saw them for myself at Vapnartak on the weekend, and they look even better IRL than they do from the pics on the site. Very tidy.

Airfix used to make both Roman & Barbarian Chariots in a smaller scale plastic. If you're talking about some kind of Ben Hur-style Chariot racing game, those might serve very well...

For goodness sake, what the hell is that crap on the lion's chin?  I know the elfses just put it there so mooks like me will move in for a closer look and be all kinds of devoured...because elfses is tricksy...

Still...those lions are really nice sculpts...I wonder how many guys just tore those off and threw them into the sun?  I know I just damaged my monitor trying to do that, and it won't come off of the lions on the picture here on my screen...

That's easy: A themed warband with barbarians, polar bears, lots of snow, and a winter board to game on  :)

I was thinking of the Celtos Vanir myself, which I suppose isn't much different from your idea. The old Vanir army list included a wolf-drawn sled, but there was a never a miniature for it, and now that Brigade Models is making a new version of Celtos, the sled might be written out of the rules.
