I used to do some of those in the past - before children and when income was far more disposable. Had originals helmets and also used to finish original shells with paint and fresh liners etc.

These have come out very well - I like the 'loose' texture on the second and the patina on the first is great. What shells are you using?

thanks Keith, they are repro shells, with liners, m42 i think! plus a rather nice fj helmet, the 3rd ive owned that actually fits my bonce! you can buy them fairly cheap off ebay etc, i want to do a few with decals, and maybe some early war clean look helmets, there's a few people out there that make a nice business out of pre ageing helmets, since originals are hard to come by and very expensive
