Plasticville kitbash and scratch build
« on: 16 June 2012, 09:04:37 AM »
Hi all  :)
Here are some pictures of my recent scratch build based on a Plasticville damaged front part that I purchased off ebay.
I got a big box of pasticville odds and ends for a very cheap price. I recon it will add up to between 8 and 10 builings with more to spare....

Here is the original Plasticville model, to which the front belongs - I only have the damaged front part of the building, which the model will be build around

Damaged front part is been repaired

The front is mounted on cardboard and foamcore walls are added

Plastic parts and details are added

Adding roof and interior walls – made out of foamcore and sandpaper

Model is base coated, window and door details are added and whole model is weathered with weathering spray from Model Mates

And here is another kitbash that I made from Plasticville front and roof parts  :D

regards
Thomas

Lovely stuff. I've done the same in the past and they are great kits to work with.

Fine work in making the missing parts.

Excellent job !  8)
Nice weathering. I saw the Modelmates weathering spray demo at Salute last year, but wasn't sold on it. Now I'm thinking I should reconsider.

I think the weathering sprays are awesome  :)
But you do have to control youselves in regards to the amount you apply as the subject can quickly become rather grimly looking...

Check out some trials from the tread that I posted some time ago

Great results!
Both in the work and picking up a load of the stuff on the cheap.
The extra effort required is certainly paying off!

I picked up some of the weathering stuff at Salute, but have not used it yet.
Seeing this tells me that it is about time I did!

:o Very nicely done. I have a couple of plasticville kits that came with missing parts. Guess now I will have to quit stalling and do something with them.
