Playing Hellsing in the 18th C.?
« on: June 22, 2012, 01:35:15 PM »
Hellsing http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellsing is a Japanese 'vampire hunters' epic declined in three supports: a manga, a TV animated series and an original video animation. A rich, *unconventional* setting and an exciting storyline: the top agent of the late 20th C. British 'anti-vampires' ('anti-evil', more generally) secret organization, Alucard is none else than Dracula himself! The primary enemy, Millenium is a Nazi organization, creating artificial, practically remote-controlled vampires -but an old, chivalrous werewolf fights for it. The Vatican, its position ambiguous to start with, eventually launches an anti-episcopalian crusade…
Inspired by several examples of 'Gothic Horror games set in the 18th C., I indulged in a flight of fancy about transposing Hellsing to the period, in a mythical quasi-Austrian area:http://www.drunkendragoonproductions.com/18thcentimagi-nation/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=120.
Hope a few readers will be intrigued, perhaps interested.
