Shameless theft of standee idea

While these really aren't a patch on the lovely works of art in Cherno's thread here (link), they were inspired by his great collection of standees.

Intended to be NPCs in my current D&D game with my kids, and all taken from artwork on the D&D site, left to right we have:



Glendor, a fighter with a somewhat shady past; Zerran, a study Draven shieldmaiden; Maggor, a taciturn ranger; Vard, a reckless fighter...



...Tospre, a mystical Elven warrior, Nurtz, a talkative thief, and Ornlotte, a kindly cleric.

There's a small pile still waiting to be built and I'm experimenting with better basing...

About an hour to download the artwork, and 5 minutes to print it, stick it and cut it (then write everyone's name on their back).

Thinking about it, I might have some similar bases in a box in the loft, from about 1982... I'll see if I can find them!

Indeed, these ones



are best for thin cardboard. The downside is that the legs will be hidden which is one reason I don't use them aynymore.

I have recently experiemented with normal slotta bases but didn't get very far, but if you have a bunch of them and no miniatures to use them for you could just glue the standees to them

Thanks Cherno, any pleasing aesthetic qualities are entirely down to the talented artists that did the originbal artwork, and any greatness in the idea is entirely down to your inspiration.

But they were a cheap way of quickly getting figures on the table. They fitted with the inn they were fighting outside of, which took 15 minutes to make from a shoe-box and some packaging from Amazon. It was a very cheap and cheerful game but very enjoyable nevertheless. I'll definitely be using the idea again, and improving the technique as I go along.
