I don't know if this is the right board to post this on or if The Wickerman can be classed as a horror film? There's not really much in the way of blood and guts!
I was asked recently if I could make a model of the wickerman pyre that's in the dramatic scene at the end of the film. I could only think of two ways to try and make one and I didn't fancy learning how to weave!

The only way I could think of doing it was to make a foam former, stick on lines of solder wire to follow the contours of the statue and act as the cane frame, and then cover it in green stuff which is score to look like bundles of wicker woven into the canes.
Here's the one from the film...

Here's the ideas I had for my own version. I think I'll just stick as close to the original as I can.

....and here's where I've got so far....

This is blue foam cover in red clay to make it harder, solder 'canes' on top and green stuff for the wicker.

...and about 3/4 completed body...

I'm going to sit it on a plinth type stone base with steps on. There's going to be a cage in the centre of the chest, I'll make the frame/bars for it separate. The cage will fit a standard based 28mm figure.
Hope you likey!
