Klingon conversions... an idea!
« on: 09 July 2012, 05:49:30 AM »
Qapla'!!!

So I've been watching the Star Trek movies these past few weeks. The inevitable questions is: but how do I play this?!

With a distinct lack of licensed Star Trek figures... or just really bloody expensive ones... I've wondered how to do this with what's more easily available.

The movie Klingons don't look much different to leather-armour clad barbarians from most fantasy ranges out there. If you type "leather human" in Reaper's search catalogue you'll see what I mean. There are even some female miniatures that would work exceptionally well.

I guess all they would need is the shaved tonsure-style front, and a wrinkly forehead... as well as the characteristic Mongolian facial hair... and a blaster of course.

This isn't by any means a short-term project for me, but I thought I'd put the idea out there... maybe someone has done something similar? Maybe you'd like to!

Here are some worthy examples:

And these ones need a bit more work...

Well, feel free to share any ideas about this.

Barbarella: What's that screaming? A good many dramatic situations begin with screaming...
