This here Plynkes is a real person, but the one that posts on the Speakeasy is a spambot.
A friend of mine introduced a field called "website" in his registration formular. He then hid it from view via CSS, so ordinary users cannot see it. But since spambots generally fill in every field available, all that had to be done was filter every registration with a website. Heavenly silence from then on...
A simpler solution is to put a checkbox on the form that needs to be deselected. Spambots can't click form elements
Rich added a shibboleth to the registration on the Speakeasy, and I went from getting thirty to forty messages a day about new registrants named "Xhobeth93" or suchlike to silence, punctuated occasionally by real registrations.
