Maiden Guard - how many are there??
« on: August 03, 2012, 02:48:48 AM »
Hi all,

This might be a silly question, but how many individual Warhammer Maiden Guard miniatures are there? I can only find this list, indicating there are nine including the Everqueen: http://www.angelfire.com/ct2/highelves/available.html
(and if there are only nine, that is a silly number, because whenever would you choose to line your spear warriors in ranks of three? Especially when you already have three command plus a champion plus a character ...)

So far, I have acquired six out of the nine, for the High Elf army I am slowly but steadily amassing. Didn't even realise I had gotten the champion in the small group of Maiden Guard I bought on eBay the other day! Currently feeling quite smug with my fluke purchase ...

Anyway, I want to find out exactly how many unique Maiden Guard figs there are before I start collecting repeated minis. Does anyone know?

As far as I know there are only 9. I Got the box set years ago when they first came out. If you want to add more variety, to your bog standard High Elves. Maybe pick up some of the dark Elf spruces, because I think they have females in there rank and fill and combine parts to make them "High Elves". Also I am going to My storage unit next week if you are interested in picking up some more I can dig them up and see what I have left.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Thanks, Joe, was great to see the detail of the figs up close. The pics in the page I found were quite small and it took me a couple of glances to figure out which ones I had collected!

Commissarmoody - Yes, the Dark Elves do have female warriors among their ranks; the witch elves might be interesting to convert into Maiden Guard ... might have to ponder that idea for a while!

I am missing the Maiden Guard circled in the image below:

Would be great to see if you have those ones and any other Maiden Guard figs you might dig up, thanks!
