Hello from central Ohio, USA

New to the forum.... been slowly getting into historical miniature games over the last year. Mainly interested in early 17th through to early 19th century stuff. So far been focusing on pirate skirmish (more historical than pop-culture inspired pirates), and lately been working on a North American War of 1812 setup.

I do dabble in fantasy and sci-fi (war hammer mostly), but historical are my passion.

Welcome to the group. There are a number of boards here that fit right into your interests. I just happen to be reading a recently purchased book that you might find interesting. It is "The Civil War of 1812" by Alan Taylor. It has a wide perspective on what was going on around the period there and in world politics.
