RAFM themselves say it needs to be renewed on their Indiegogo page.

Ah, I did not notice that bit. It would be a shame for them to lose it.

Agreed.  I was the loon who pushed the Space 1889 crowdsource, a decade before Kickstarter & Indiegogo made it fashionable.  Bob Murch's Space 1889 figs, both the original lines and the "new" (now 10 years old) ones, are some of my favorite figures as well.

Okay, I'm in. Friends, who already invested at lower rates, have offered to chip in to share on the 40% off.    :D

Someone on TMP, I think, complained about the order of planned releases. Not sure if this has been the line from the beginning, but the confirmation note had:

The final two Personality Miniatures that we are proposing for this program will be chosen by the people who contribute to the program. A Space: 1889 topic has been added to our RAFM.com forums and you can post your ideas there. However, once the funding has been completed and if it is successful, we will then open a private area for the funders and have a vote to determine which miniatures will be produced. This is an effort to give the people who have contributed to the program some say in the future of the miniature line.

If it's new, at least someone's been listening to the whinging.  lol

I'm signing up, but unless participation improves dramatically, this isn't going anywhere.

I wonder if they'll honor the 40% off if it doesn't succeed?

My impression was not. Wouldn't blame them, but, unless folks opt out of email updates, I'm sure they'll send out tonnes o' offers.  :D

Well, they'e up over $1100 now - a bit slow for a start but not hopeless.  Indiegogo stuff tends to go slower than Kickstarter, and the real rush doesn't generally start till the last week or so on either.  If we keep spreading the word there's a decent shot at it meeting its goal.

And I'm proud to report that almost 10% of that is from lil podunk eastern Nebraska.

Take that, western Iowa and northern Missouri.  lol

Huh?  I live in Missouri but don't get that comment.  Is it some oblique sporting rivalry reference?

Gracias,

Glenn

I think I'll have to jump in. I'd really like a couple of those big beasties with howdahs.

I was looking at those myself.  They might be good for scale jumping too, depending on what kind of detail the howdahs wind up with.  They're big in 28mm - they'd be absolutely huge in 15mm, maybe with a bunch of primitive xenos and crude cannons mounted atop them.

Naw, just embracing the great 'center of nowhere' we so love. Daughter and grandchildren live in Columbia, so they are out of the 'northern Missouri', as I thought you were.

Personally, I wear a Tiger's cap to PO Huskers. The stares I get...

Edit: Some how I got the impression you lived in my birthplace, St. Louis.

This project looks to be in trouble. Wonder how much the license costs? 20k for just a few figs is pretty pricey. The annoying thing is the IP has been allowed to languish for what- 15 years? Now with the about to be released Mars Needs Steam, Rafm may be in danger of losing the line. Wonder if they could just be rebranded under a different name and continue on.

I suspect difficulties, as the figs match (are based on?) images from the books. I'm assuming ownership of those images are still in Frank Chadwick's hands.

Edit: Course, that's without any understanding of how Heliograph fits in...
