There is (or was, ten years ago at least) an S&M Hardware store opposite the train station in Macclesfield which always made me chuckle slightly when on my way to visit my grandparents.

Quick update. The building is taking shape so thought I'd post a couple of pics.

As you can see from this one, I'm currently working on the ground floor. The black bits of foamboard in the centre are just to give you an idea of the layout. As per the picture of the original pub on Page 1 the angled wall section will be covered by a sign hence why it isn't decorated:



Here's the side and back. The backyard still has to be walled and paved and you may see on the base the footprint of the out-house; that has been built and just needs to be put into place. I want to add a large painted sign to the side wall, the only way I can think of achieving that effect is to either create a decal and stick it on or make a stencil. Any other suggestions would be welcome.



I'm working on the chimneys tonight so will hopefully have the roof section completed by the weekend. Then I'll enclose the yard which will see the bulk of the main structure complete; that means it's then down to the detail and weathering. My least favourite bit.

Wonderful work.  May I ask where you obtained the decorative mouldings at the top of each wall?

They're from Fenris Games and very hand they are. You can also find them through model railway suppliers but I don't know how they scale up.

Christian, that looks like a decent book. I've still got access to masses of the suff through my uni.

Another quick update chaps.

Although it doesn't look like much has happened I've been beavering away at new detailing and building techniques which have taken a while to get the hang of but will save time in the future. 

Anyway, a couple of pics of the usual crap quality for you below. Chimney's are done and more of the main structure. The white and grey boards will be the signs which Svennnnnn has kindly offered to do for me. 

I've still got the rear yard to do and pics of that will be next. After that I'll be adding detailed bits such as lamps and weathering then it's job done and I'll finally bring the thread to a close. Promise  .
