I also dislike the unproffesional painted miniatures although I realy love the colour plates from osprey. They realy are a great source for inspiration.

The game itself isn't realy my cup of tea 'cause it feels too much like wh40k in my oppinion. Some quite good ideas like the alternating activation by drawing the order dice but these don't make up for a realy good game.
On the other hand it's written in a realy plain and easy too understand way, that will accommodate non native speaking players.

Agreed, the Osprey pics are just GREAT! And also agreed that most minis are not as good painted as a mini company should present their product.

But - Why is it like 40K?  ??? ???
IMO it has more or less nothing in common.
Different turn structure, different shooting mechanism (no templates, no roll to wound etc.), different CC and vehicle rules... the list goes on.  8)

cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

I think its just laziness, as you say almost nothing is in common with 40K apart from the points sytems.
Its just easy to say its like 40K in the same way that FOW has been labelled Warhammer WW2.
Its the old GW or any company doing well is intrinsically bad. Its so old.
I came, I saw, I went home again..

Haven't said it's 40k, it's just the impression I got while playing a game... a almost similar feeling to me. Maybe it's only a personal aversion against alessio (who along with chambers in my opinion butchered dust warfare).

Ah, got it.   ;) 8)
And yes the game certainly cannot deny its pedigree... (or designers).

For The First Year I'm guessing....dunno

I'm more keen to play now Rick Priestley has chimed in at warlord a few times just saying if you want to ignore the army lists just ignore them, its nice to see those involved in the rules just telling you that if you want to just play, just play.

But I also am still worried about it feeling like 40k, its why I hate Flames of Warhammerepic40k so damn much, terrible system.

IIRC in the introduction to BA there already stated you can ignore the lists/ point system if you wish to... no big thing to me as I think it's always possible to introduce special rules to adapt rulesets to my taste. I could never play dust warfare if my gaming group hadn't introduced a whole bunch of special rules.

Give it a try... as I said before it's not my preferred system but on the other hand I've already played rules much worse. The 40kish touch it has to me maybe doesn't stand out to you.

It was a new one to me, but the meaning that makes the most sense to me is

Fixed That For You

If you read the quoted text closely it is slightly different (fixed) from the original.

"FTFY" has become a fairly common meme.  It's not intended to make anyone believe YOU changed your mind.  It's a humorous way for the poster to make HIS thoughts known.

Its good to hear people like the quality of this rule book, not only for its gameplay, but its presenation. The artwork is superb, I agree.

I got my copy directly as my work is in it! The French AFV's, Bedford and Tilley, 38t etc are my own work. I am credited in the book.

Ah famous at last, well not quite.

Well its a bit like wetting yourself in a dark suit. Nobody notices, but it gives you a warm feeling!
