I'd think warlords useless stupid release schedule and attitude of P.S and the effect of losing my interest in bolt action is on topic, I was helping to expand my reasons why my interest in bolt action has gone, and that for the foreseeable future they have lost a customer to this set of rules and the companies products as a whole.

Negatives about something are as common as the positives, I feel I should be allowed to express my lack of interest and why just as any other can post his joyful enthusiasm and why.

Like any new adventure/genre it takes time to cover the basics of any range and keep the interest going. We can't expect to have everything available at our fingertips.I too would like to see some products that have not been produced, but it doesn't give me the right to remark most negatively the company as it's not right language to think that way.

Warlord Games like any other company are doing their best considering. I think King Tiger you should show a little more restraint with your rhetoric and not take it personally on Warlords and reflect it here on this site and under my watch.

Thank you for understanding,

Helen

@ Agis
I'll bow to your wisdom on that sir as I havn't played any games and only read thru the rules once.

Reenforced platoon is a little over(or is it under?) my depth. We play multiple reenforced companies usually.Strange thing about the rules was I thought they wouldn't work well for our big games(We would have about 50 order dice a side!) but are also too simplistic in some areas.
We use modified Warhammer Great War and it works well for us.We can play a game on a 20 foot table with a heavily supported company a side(and plenty of vehicles!) in about 2-3 hours.

A shop about 2 hours from me is talking about starting Bolt Action....I may go down and bring my Germans giving the rules a try. I am going to be reserved until I see the other books hit the shelf next year before I commit to anything.

I'm struggling to get interested in this, when I first of it I was excited, but after months and months of waiting, stupid and inconsistent BA warlord releases, all this uber list competitive rubbish and the main (negative for me) selling point of people trying to sell it being "its like 40k/FoW but in 28mm" has just made me not care.

Competitive gaming can swing for all I care.

This.
I will stick to Rules of Engagement or NUTS!
Tintin - Pulp Adventures in a orderly fashion
Gallows Falls - Western Village
Eisende - Mordheim costal village WIP
Rome - SPQR & Hail Caesar

Try to take what KT says with a pinch of salt. He was barred from the WL site ...

I like BA. I also enjoy DH and will try NUTS!

I think I will actually purchase a copy of Warlords rules set, for inspiration mainly, however, I really like Rules of Engagement, so will stick to that until I find/make my own set of rules the way I want them. I am not sure I want to play a WWII game that let you create streamlined fotm lists.

I have played DH for many years and enjoy them a lot. They are our club's preferred WW2 rules for 28mm. I bought the Bolt Action rules and while they look simple there is a lot of hidden tactics. Currently I am enjoying them as much if not more than DH - this maybe due to them just being different to DH. They have a "fun" feel to them. I can't wait to get my hands on the suppliments to see how they will develop the game further. Short term we will use the DH army books for army lists or the generic ones in the back of the rule book.

So long as Warlord keeps producting more high qualiety WW2 models and rule books, I will keep buying them (even though they now charge VAT on international orders  :(  ).

I've bought the rules and personally I suspect i will need to make a number of house rules. Why peoPle feel the need to say they won't be buying them though escapes me. To denigrate a set because other people are power gaming the points system is laughable. Do you not buy a video game because some else uses cheats?

I got my copy a couple of weeks ago and although I haven't really had a chance to read it through I'll definetly play at least a few games with it, hopefully many more.

BUT! One thing bugs me about the layout of the book. Each chapter beginns with a beatiful painting by Peter Dennis but for some reason there are a huge black border across the paintings with the chapter name in it. So most of the times you can barely see the picture.
It drives me crazy, it really does...

Layout is also not so much to my liking.
Many of the minis are not painted to a standard that you can show them and the worst part are the semi realistic photoshopped scenic pics.
(Page 66, 101, 111(!), 112, 143(!))  :-X :-X :'(

But I have read many positive layout feedback's, so I might be in a minority! 8)
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de
