Mixed Lot: Hydra Figs and Some More Clix Repaints

Some better pics of some of our display models for Hydra:

I'm doing the little flying robots in the same scheme as the big one. But the Robot Legionnaires I'm doing up in a scheme that will hopefully be cool and unique.

I posted some of the rest of my lostworld/jungle pulp clix project in the Gorilla Force Go thread. Here's a boy and his panther and the start of some amazons; the priestess.

Tarzan was never this ripped:

Black Panther:Avengers:Marvel Heroclix:Wizkids

Guenhwyvar:Underdark:D&D Minis:Wizards of the Coast

Jinx:Legacy:DC Heroclix:Wizkids

And a parting shot:
Recreational Conflict: www.recreationalconflict.com

Jibbery style oinkery which don't make no damn sense.

Those repaints are excellent, that Black Panther sculpt is one of my favorites. 8)

Thanks. I knew I could do a good amount of jungle and retro sci-fi stuff with just Heroclix and a few animals from D&D. With recent Horrorclix sets I think I can do a nice but small victorian scenario. It's fun trying to sift through the sets and see how far you can take the repurposeings.

Repurposeings? Thought you Yankee Doodles sepcialised in reimagining!

(I'm going to be very embaressed if Tim Burton turns out to be British.)

One of my teachers went to school with Tim Burton, I'm pretty sure he's American.

But I take no responsibility for my countrymen in Hollywood. :)

The Wizards of the Coast site has all their stuff. (They made the Starwars gallery hard to use though.)

D&D-

Dreamblade-

Starwars-

Those links should work on your computer, if it doesn't for some reason let me know and I can send you to some webstores with good pictures. Heck, tell me what kinda things you're looking for and I can probably find you some good matches. :)

Remember though that their scaling for humanoids is all over the place. Though you can usually guestimate the size by looking at the base. The one they use for human sized critters is 25mm diameter.

For Wizkids browsing, just go to wizkidsgames.com. It should be pretty easy to find stuff there.

I wholeheartedly agree.  I make extensive use of clix/D&D figs for repaint/conversion, and have loads of fun just devising the possibilities.  I've used them for modern zombies, WWII, pulp, HOTT armies, and definately for retro sci-fi.  Also, since I can find a lot of singles for around $0.50 it's economical too.

I've been doing the exact same thing. Repainting the clix/ WOTC figs can give you some dynamic, inexpensive figs that look fantastic on the gaming table. Just bought a load of horror clix figs on ebay that I will be enthusiastically be turning into some VSF goodness over the next little while.

The black panther fig is amazing! You've opened my eyes on what can be done with it. I will have to pick one up. Maybe do a head swap..... hmmmm.
