Ugh, can I chop your hands off and replace mine with them?

Oh yeah Maxxev, like you are some sort of painting slouch or something eh? Pfft  :-)

In other words, superb paint job you talented git. :P

And i agree 100%. Damn nice paint job. I never liked the crossbow on that model. No wrongs to you about it. Your paint scheme is excellent though.

Thanks again chaps, I'm very happy that you like them.  :)

I really hope that Hasslefree release some more dwarves in this style, with the flat-top helms and tabards. I have a bundle of the Norman-style ones to do, but could use another two or three of these just to bulk out the gang.

Currently I have them in my head as a Brother-Knight, two Sergeants and a Lay-Brother, and I could use one more of each of the Sergeants and Lay-Brothers to make up a full "Lance".

The Vertically Challenged Crusaders look FANTASTIC...your usual high standard brushwork & basing with a very clever theme. As always VERY WELL DONE!

The Nasal helms would work well as normal foot soldiers, give them less uniformed approach but with a red/white cross badge?

That's pretty much my plan, although they won't necessarily be crusaders. Need to look at some proper Norman shield designs before I make any decisions.

Does anyone else see these as possible LotR dwarves?

I think that's been suggested on the Forum of Doom, and IIRC Kev White said that's what he had in mind.

I certainly do, but maybe not what you guys are thinking.

I was thinking that, anatomically, they remind me of Dwarves as illustrated in the MERP books.

To my mind, that will always be what Dwarves should look like.

I am sure you could get some Heater shields fomr the like of Front Rank to change them from the Norman look, that way you could tie in the design
