Salute 2013
« on: October 02, 2012, 02:45:43 PM »
Given that it's ages away you might be wondering why this post, well for the first time in 10 years I will be in the UK over the weekend of Slaute, and Salute was my last UK convention! So now I have to talk my better half in to having a "fun day" out in London...

I'm pretty excited and wondered if they would be a LAF stand, perhaps next to the bar or bring and buy.

One of the greatest shames of Salute is that there is no bar.............on a positive note though the Pompeii exhibition will be at the British Museum so you can visit on the Firday or the Sunday  :)

Do you really think a bar would be such a good idea considering the time constraint involved with Salute? lol

Yep...fortunately there are a few right outside the centre so after the spree you can sit down, get rid of your last pennies and organise/blur your thoughts appropriately.

Last one a pile of folk arranged to meet in front of a particular stand at a certain time. I missed it though, I do think name/handle stickers are a good way to go. Slug, Stinky and myself wore them last time to make meeting folk easier and it worked to an extent. Would work better if every one did it.

On a tangent I have a badge making machine, so we could have "official" LAF pin badges if it's agreeable to the Prof.

Same thought here, Gringo. I would love to recognize some of you, but without a badge or a big arrow floating on our heats it will be quite hard!

Fair enough, if you could email me the font used up there in the masthead and we're away. Are you at next Salute?

A single good beer does help concentrate the mind and help avoid those thoughts such as 'I can't afford it' 'I don't need it' 'I'll buy it another time'  :D

Frothers tend to meet afterwards at the Fox just outside Excel......all starts innocently enough but sometimes ends in karoake.....

Yep its become quite a tradition for LAFers to congregate in front of the Oshiro Model stand at 1.30pm  and by doing so prevent as many customers as possible from getting near his stand. ;) lol

I fully expect to be seeing the same thing happen next year ;)
