Bring and Buy at Salute 2013
« on: 19 April 2013, 02:50:48 PM »
Hi,

It's my first time there and I'm curious about the Bring and Buy. Are the prices usually good, nice bargains, should I get there early...? I'm looking for specific stuff but will probably end up with more than I intend or need.

'Mental!' is the best word to describe it!

This is referring to my experiences at Salute from the last few years:

With so many people there all trying to get to the front, I usually steer well clear of it, as it usually gives me the hump after being clumped for the umpteenth time by a rucksack.
I normally end up wanting to clump someone.

Still, there MUST be bargains to be had, the way they crowd around like piranhas at feeding time.

Bloody rucksacks lol. I have whacked so often i no longer take one. Use of the so-called man-bag is much more friendly to everyone else :D

They should split the stall ALL that GW stuff on one stall and the real wargaming stuff on another that way you should find that all the bergan/rucksack will be in the GW stall  ;D

leaving us gentlemen to have a good look see whats on on the other stand , and not get decapitate ,but hay we have to wade throught 2' deep GW stuff which nobody wants and they are asking a load of dosh for which they never get in a 100 years ..

I would love it if they could split the stall, GW bin  :D i mean on the left stall  and wargaming stuff on the other table

but there is some good buys ,if you can get a look see, i always pop back every few hours to have a look as there are always a load of stuff arriving through out the day  :)
Take as much cash as you can as there can be some lovely armies going for a good price and you never know what might come up. IF you see something that you like buy it there and then as it will not be there when you come back ! As i have done that in the passed and missed out on a few good buy and if you made a boob then you can alway put it back in !

Happy hunting kingscarbine

It's an endless whirlwind of elbows, rucksacks and body odour. Best avoided at all costs!
