looking for a gangster ride
« on: March 11, 2008, 08:56:29 AM »
Hi :)
I´m new to the forum and also to Pulp Games.
I´m interested in "gangster" games set in America during the 1925 to 1930 (the time of Al Capone).
My problem is, every gangster had got a typical "gangster like" looking car, but where can I  get one from which fits into this era and to the scale?
By the way I want to play with 28mm figures.

The only company I´ve found is "Sloppy Jaloppy". Well they have realy good looking cars but it wouldn´t be cool if every player has got the same car, would it?
And some of the cars are looking to much like explorer cars found in films like Indiana Jones ;)

Can anybody help me?

A trifle European but the best looking car for this era is the Tamiya Citroen in  1:48 scale.

try an e-bay search using Danbury Mint, they do a range of nice pewter models, and some of those are classics like Cadillacs and the Cord.

I have their 'Capone Special' and the 'Hillbilly Truck'.  Overall, they're not bad but they'll need a bit of work to get them up to snuff.  I don't particularly like the resin they're using - it's a bit brittle - but, for the price, they're definitely worth considering.  Take your time with them and they could be showstoppers.
