Places of Eldritch Power
« on: November 06, 2012, 07:50:21 PM »
Hey LAFer's Just a quick post for some terrain for Eldritch Pulp games. It's a new period for me so I started noodling around on some terrain to start. enjoy.

An overall shot of the 3 places of power:

A shrine:

A gateway, or scrifical font:

I will add some chain to the skull columns
A gift from the stars:

And a labrynth:

I will get these painted up and see where we are at.

Looks cool. Are the flagstones commercially produced, or homecast? What rules are you using for your pulp games?

Brilliant!  In addition to the flagstone, where are the obelisk & pillars from?

Is the one with the rock going to be a meteor crater?
Remember, remember, the Dalek December
With Paris in ruins and London in ember
In times of the future when fears are abating
Don’t try to forget them, the Daleks are waiting
Quietly planning and scheming and hating…

Looking really good.

Now, I can't wait to see them painted.

Thanks for sharing.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

The flagstones look very much like pieces cast from Hirst Arts molds - Cavern Floor #281 or 282, it appears. (http://www.hirstarts.com/molds/moldsfloor.html)
from Mr.Vampire: "It's the paintjob that makes the miniature fight harder not the size."

Thanks everybody. Looking forward to finishing them. They were a Sunday afternoon to put together so I was pleased with how quick they went together. The flagstone is indeed from the Hirst Arts flagstone molds. I love these molds. I have about 20 molds and these are my favorite. The cavern molds that go with them are ace too. The metal things are old citadel fantasy architecture pieces.

I liked the limiting nature of doing these on c.d.'s. they have to be the best bases around for small terrain pieces if you have them laying around.

The rock piece is indeed a meteor crater. A glowing'gift from the elder gods. A seed of corruption if you will. I will make some more.

After that a couple of crypt entries, a graveyard, and some swamp huts for a voodoo cult, and who knows what.

As for rules. I have chaos in carpathia, but sounds like strange aeons is all the rage. Wish there was a PDF option for the rules.

More pics when they are finished.

You can still buy some of the GW Fantasy stuff...

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/armySubUnitCats.jsp?catId=cat440122a&rootCatGameStyle=wh

Granted it is expensive...

I keep looking at the Hirst stuff, a friend bought some of the sci-fi ones and loved them....the problem is how heavy they can get. What do you cast with?

The books for SA are not expensive compared to some other rules and are well bound in spiral format and worth the effort to get...

As for CDs...yea my wife HATES me...I have a large box in the garage with I am sure close to 1000 CDs that I nabbled from the MIS department when I worked there....we bought a bunch of computers and we tossed all the boot CDs as they had their own custom setup...so after they ran them through a machine to make them unuseable I asked if I could use them for hobby stuff to recycle and I was told to take as much as I wanted...they are VERY useful to have around...

Yeah, keep building those cool pieces. I keep having weird ideas about doing a Chaos in New Mexico game- Spanish Conquistadors vs Native Americans, werewolfs, ghosts, etc. Lots of strange tales in this region.
