Painting Asiatic skin tones [Manchuria]

I'm about to start on my Chinese Bandits while i'm waiting for the WL Chinese figures.

I appreciate that there's no one correct skin tone.

However, i'm colour-blind* so be gentle with me. I was thinking Vallejo flat flesh or basic skin tone and adding a little Snakbite Leather or similar. Another possibility would be adding Desert Yellow to the flesh tone [quite frankly, that doesn't look bad as it is but see above*]?

My WL are Northern Chinese/Manchuria if that helps any.

Any thoughts?

I used some BronzedFlesh from Vallejo with a bit of the "old" GWs Sepia-Wash". However, usually I'm more of the comic-type-painter, so this suggestion might be a bit too "yellowish". But maybe it is a good base to start with, since that BronzedFelsh is a nice warm yellow-brown color, mixing it with pink, brown, bleachedbone, etc.

I tend to use paints that i can get hold of easily rather than buy through the post, so that means GW, Vallejo etc

I think original "asian skin" is more of the ivory-type (therefore my version way tooo yellow). However, similar to "us european-type"-whitebreads, they have much-many skin-types as well. So, "asian skin-tone" is most likey too broad anyway.

Tibet, Mongolia, Siberia etc all look to have darker skin colour (from photos i've seen) than their southern Chinese "cousins"

Can I ask what WL Chinese are?  Not familiar with the acronym.

I either mix using various flesh shades or more often just go with the Foundry triad for ease (laziness)

I bought a pot of Cote D'Arms Oriental Flesh and will experiment by lightening/darkening that as a base

That's correct. Mongolian tones are pretty brown (especially for folks like hardened warriors who are usually outside). It's actually not too dissimilar to medium middle-eastern skin tones (albeit with a tad more yellow and a tad less red), if you've ever painted that before. Sometimes it can also trend to an almost-mediterranean olive, but that's more typical of SE asia (Cambodia, etc.)
