Arkham Avenue from Fenris - The Griffin House

This will be our first laser-cut building kit, hopefully ready for release before the end of November. Consisting of over 120 laser-cut wood, styrene, and resin parts, this builds into a  Victorian house with removable roof and floors designed for 28mm RPG and skirmish gaming.

Basic carcass, showing pre-cut styrene elevations designed to hide joins and provide a better surface for painting:

Overall shell with applied stonework details - designed to disguise the join between floors as well as providing more interesting texture. Mansard roof massed out in foam.

Test geometry for the roof & dormer windows (just before our laser blew its focussing telescope and held up progress, hence part-cut pieces and hand-finished bits to continue with the prototype. Resin cornice details tacked in place:

First couple of roof elevations with applied styrene tiles, rear view showing back door and chimney massing:

More applied detail, WIP front staircase, tree and APEX Hooper for scale:

Finished kit will have resin external stairs, chimney, cornices - laser cut ply carcass, internal stairs, walls, window frames & details, styrene elevations and details.

It'll be followed shortly afterwards by a handed, part-ruined version of the same building, and separately available baseplate with lasered paths and detailing. Lots more of this planned if this one proves successful....

so you could have an entire street in Arkham if you had the space...  :D

One blenches at the potential price, though...

Very, very nice. I've quite a few Fenris pieces and they are all reasonably priced. This does actually look like it's worth a bit, which may mean a correspondingly high price. On the basis of what some companies are charging £50 or more for mdf buildings, this easily looks like it's worth more. Fenris' mdf railings will go very well with this too.

Aiming to be cheaper than that....

Really? That's superb. That comment was meant as a complement by the way!

Today's work on the working prototype...dry-fitting roof cornice, test-cast chimney stack, and corner flashings....
