What I really need to do is get my eyes and hands on one to see how it might scale up  (said sadly lamenting the loss of Modelzone  )

I have a solution to the railway bridge conundrum ,,,,, a hornby 1:76 pedestrian footbridge that works ok as a one-person wide stairs and bridge at 28mm



It needs some conversion work and is expensive for what it is but it solves a problem



The steps actually look about right for 28s.




I've also made some progress with the pair of shops, which are now clad



There's an extra sheet of vac-form styrene for the shops, which includes the additional section of ground floor window and the interior retail shelving.

The bridge looks pretty good actually. The steps look right. I'm looking forward to this!

Works for me Steve! Will you be puttting in rail cars too? Electric, diesel or steam? They would look nice with a few cars leading off the edge of the board and graffiti scrawled on them.

This morning's tasks centred on converting the bridge.  Basically I took out the shorter, 2nd tier of steps to drop the height, made a new bridge section from styrene (twice as wide for more minis) and used pieces from the original bridge platform and the pillar bases to deepen what was the landing near the top of the stairs.

Here's an underneath view of the remade and new parts (which need cladding) and then a shot of the bridge resting in situ.






The position of the stairs will allow a somewhat exposed sight line along the centre of the road.

Still a wip with swing seat and see-saw to be added.

I've also added some corrugated panels where the footbridge crosses the railway.  It's a feature of the Victorian railway stations in these parts.
