Have so, TBC - project coming along very nicely  :D

Thanks Raxxus.  I've been following the other thread and it's a great suggestion and though I haven't seen them in the flesh I think the minis and the vehicles would work well together. That said, if I can find a vehicle that is already in Northern European use that's my preference, partly because it'd fit the back story better.   ;)  :)

Cheers!  Quite happy with the purchase.  And yes, Hills have Eyes was on my mind as I purchased it!

Watched Mutants this afternoon .... A French-made, infected movie, partly set in a snow-bound landscape.  I liked it, a lot.
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Yes, it is nice. French ones are very violent and straight. Love them. And yes, snow is a part of it. Maybe you should watch dead snow (from norway, I think). Also a great one...

Dead Snow is brilliant!  :o

On the other hand, Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings (2011), not so much  lol

I eagerly await Dead Snow 2  :D

Skis and snowshoes aren't the top priority at the moment given that the game settings tend to be more urban for the better scavenging opportunities.  There's also the issue of availability as the game is set in a location that wouldn't normally be snowbound so the homes and stores wouldn't normally have them.  They'll come in time, including as a conversion pack for the existing minis.

Falling arse over elbow some of the time - such as when dragging through deep snow - is accounted for by a movement modifier.  Otherwise everyone is equally impaired.

I can't even begin to understand how you find the time to watch all these films. My list of films I haven't seen just grows!  :?

When you getting older you don't need as much sleep as a young jedi, my yound padawan. lol

In german we call it "senile Bettflucht". Roughly translated as "senile escape from bed"...

Just stumbled across this on Amazon - at a very cursory glance it would seem to have some resonance with SSS. Anyone read it?

Doug

Yup.  Definitely a supernatural horror novella, rather than a tale of post-apoc survival.

Update time ....

It needs a lot more work to tidy it up (it's awaiting putty!) but the beginnings of a vehicle for the ICE troopers: it's based on a German LAVP Enok*, which is an up-armoured derivative of the Mercedes G class. Aside from the main body, detail parts being worked on include white metal wheels, head lamps, bumpers, front and bonnet grilles and the top mounted LMG. It's scaled at 1/56. For Scavenge Skirmish Survive, a snow plough blade also seems a likely option.

*NB: For ease of moulding, the front mudguards have been incorporated into the body. The front end looks a bit square at the mo but will be rounded off with putty.

u

Something that looks a bit boring but might be of interest..... 180 plasticard (styrene) blanks for the vacuum former, soon to become the first release of kits for the buildings.

The above have all been on Facebook already.  Something new though is that the multipart  shambler zombies have been commisioned... Just finalising the spec, which should be with Adam tomorrow.

I'm also working on a couple of conversions that will likely be cast up (chainsaw and flamer men) - More on these soon.

 :)
