Today I dropped all my unpainted (but base coated and with spears attached) figures on a concrete floor... bad move!

A bit of a set back...

So instead of showing you 6 finished geodrith I'd rather just show where I'm at at the moment. That's blogging for you:

Geodrith are nearly done and the geodruth or dughruth or whatever are only just starting to get some paint. Big brushes here.  :D

With the Godless heathens massing, it's time to call in some help:

However, sometimes a few professional archers might also come in handy:

Still got to sort out that light box  :-[

I love watching these multi-person arms races. Inspiring and makes me want to paint (instead of be sitting at work).

I smell Christian blood!  >:D

Looking good Stephen. The priest had me worrying a bit  when I thought it was blood on his cloth there. You want to sort your white balance on yer camera but let's have a look at it Thursday.

I might need to order some reinforcements soon.

very nice looking Saxons Torbjorn, vill come in hade then to conquer some British land.

Stephen, your priest won´t help you much to stop the Barbarian hoard, the Archers might do you some good but you need a real shieldwall to stop the Saxons, even a levy shieldwall can do you some god:)  And as a mentioned to the Saxons, keep the archers out of the way of the real warrios or they surley die.

Very interesting to follow you joint project !

Best regards Michael

Managed to get a few more minutes in on these guys. Sorry about the unfinished state, but that's what blogging is all about right? Showing the process and all.

Same recipe as before - heavy really basic brush of undercoat colours, sepia wash by Vallejo, really dry brushing of iraquian sand (VAllejo) and then fiddly work on skin and hair.. bucklers and bases to go later.

Next I need to paint up this so I wont exhaust my dark age painting impetus.  lol

Very nice matey  :-*

The Vallejo inks, do they dry matt and are they water based?

Also, that Minotaur looks rather spiffing, details from whence it came etc please  :)

cheers

They have a matt, almost dead, finish indeed. I think they're alchohol based ( taken completely out of the blue.. go to the web page to check it properly) and I'm fairly certain that they're not too easy on your lungs either. But they're cheap and do the job well.  lol

Mate sculpted it for fun and didn't care for it once it was done. So it's a one of a kind.  lol

Lovely project, guys, great ideas, nicely painted figures, looking forward for more.

The mino is pretty nice, not bad for a "just for fun" figure.
