@maxxev: thanks pal :) I quite understand (especially looking your mordheim thread) that you are not a great fan of oldschool. You are definetly an extreme kitbasher! I'm a supporter of both the ways ;)

Not a real update today...just want to show you the miniatures I provided myself this weekend by trading with a friend.

First, my miner hero:

It's a 1996 citadel dwarf named Krudd Mad Mattock...and I love this model! It's perfect for mordheim IMO.  :-*

Then, even if I still have enough warrior for my warband, I coul not resist to this advanced heroquest dwarf hero...

I think I'm going to swap the hammer into an axe though...he's going to be some sort of a veteran for the group of warriors armed with axe and shield...
Hope to start painting these guy this evening...let's see if I can escape form the office at a decent time today...  :(

cheers!

Great choice for the Miner, Faber.
That is a great sculpt.

Looking forward to seeing what you do with the HQ fella...

Hi Faber, can't wait to see what you do with the miner, these guys were some of my favourites in the 90's.

Cheers,
 Damien

@Damien&Mason: unfortunately the miner is still unpainted (even if finally primed...)..I was distract by another dwarf, the advanced heroquest one...

Today a small update. Another dwarf warrior has been added to my slow growing dwarves warband. It's the advanced heroquest dwarf...As you can see, I simply  swapped his hammer with an axe. Pretty a nice miniature even if chainmail and hair could have been sculpted better...but it's a very old plastic cast, so that's ok after all.
Here it is:

finally, another group shot:

I'm pretty happy of the result. To me, it seems that he fits nicely the warband mood. What do you think guys?
cheers!

The Zombies are cool, but the dwarfs tower over them! You've really upped your painting game!! Lovely warbands!!

I really like the antler-dwarf.
Far less active than I used to...

FANTASTIC WORK! The new Old Dwarf turned out far better than I could possibly have imagined...considering my imagination, that's quite a compliment. Your brushwork & basing are as always SUPERB.

Thanks for the kind words guys :) Your support is greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty happy of my latest production: instead of plannig an entire force and then failing in the realization for lack of interest I'm now pacefully planning "individually" each model, putting all my efforts into creating the best model I can. Until now, I'm happy of my choice to follow the Mordheim theme too, having the chance to follow inspiration among many options.

So...keeping this mood, I decided to break a bit with the dwarves and I prepared a mercenary ogre. Even if planned for a human mercenary warband, he could be used in various roles: as a common-ogre mercenary for any other warband or as my avatar in Warhammer Quest (I'm recently playing this gem of a game with some friends).
Here are the pics (as you can see, the boy is primed with "zenital technique")

This is a special miniature to me: I bought it this summer on ebay (with other 3 ogres of the same marauder set  :P) and it's one of my favourite model ever. Inspired by a conversion I saw on cmon, I decided to give him a massive two-handed sword on his back. First, I create a belt around his chest with green stuff, then I create the buckle by bending a clip. Then, the painful part: being the first time, creating a complete sword into a scabbard was really hard for me. First attempt was an inglorious fail, but I persevered and I finally managed to achieve a decent result with plasticard and some pins. Then I feel he needed something more, so I added the shield, again a plasticard work.....  ::)

I was so happy of the result that I gave him a special base using a heroquest door and some ruins:

I hope to start the paintjob this evening in the little space between job and girlfriend :D
What do you think fellas?

Cheers!
