Hereward the Wake in Miniature Form
« on: December 21, 2012, 06:54:11 PM »
I have been persuaded to indulge in Saga for a campaign. I will be playing the part of 'Fenland Guerilla' Hereward the Wake.

My warband is sorted but I need a good warlord figure for the man himself, any suggestions?

Eureka's Beowulf range and if you fancy something of a heroic leader, the Beowulf figure itself. I can guarantee you will not find better dark Age sculpts than these.

Perhaps one of the new Mutineer Miniatures Dark Ages characters?

Having said that, I will be checking out the new Eureka pieces at Cancon 2013. Reminder to self, take lots of moolah!  lol

A couple of Gripping Beast minis might do, not sure if they'll fit with the other figures you already have.

I imagine any mid 11th century Anglo Danish hurscal miniature would be accurate but I'm guessing you want something a little more "interesting" than that? As a semi legendry figure who (allegedly) inspired the Robin hood stories maybe you could use something a bit more fantasy like this guy from Redbox games?

or this barbarian axeman MASQUERADE
