Pulp Alley release announcement
« on: January 02, 2013, 02:00:16 AM »
Mila and I are excited to announce the release of our Pulp Alley game. Currently, the rules are only available on our Pulp Alley online store – http://pulpalleycom.ipage.com/store/

Pulp Alley captures the fast-paced excitement of classic cliffhanger serials and pulp magazines to more modern action/adventure stories. Designed primarily as a multi-player miniatures game, each Pulp Alley scenario is jammed full of villains, unexpected perils, and plenty of two-fisted action.

Pulp Alley’s unique and innovative rules offer players a thrill-packed and engaging experience –
•   Pulp Alley plays at the pulse-pounding pace of your favorite pulps and serials.
•   Characters are easy to create and customize, making each league unique.
•   Players never need to consult charts during a scenario. The action is on the table-top – not in a rulebook.
•   Control of the Initiative is based on events as they occur during the scenario rather than an arbitrary die-roll.
•   Fights are fast-paced and simultaneously dangerous for both characters, instead of the old I-shoot-then-you-shoot sequence.
•   Perils and challenges are unpredictable and offer multiple paths to success.
•   Scenarios are plot-driven, encouraging action, and offering an array of different rewards.
•   Through campaigns and experience your characters can increase their skills and develop new abilities.

We provide additional ongoing support on our active Pulp Alley community forum –  answering questions, providing examples of play, and sharing battle reports – http://pulpalley.com/index.php

The Pulp Alley rules are available in the full pdf version for $9.99, and a shorter introductory version for $4.99 – both are available now on the Pulp Alley online store – http://pulpalleycom.ipage.com/store/

We have several releases planned for 2013 –
•   Pulp Alley – 44-page printed copies of the core Pulp Alley rules.
•   Pulp Leagues – expanded list of character abilities, league perks, and secret societies – including two new character types.
•   Perilous Island – a peril-packed campaign setting, along with rules for creating and playing monsters.
•   Fortune Deck – high-quality printed Fortune cards and Rewards.
•   And more!

It is impossible for us to mention the release of Pulp Alley without thanking our enthusiastic playtesters and supporters, who were a constant source of inspiration. Thank-you all!

HAPPY NEW YEAR,

Dave & Mila

Going to have to get them myself as well. Might have to wait for my secondment to Head Office to come to an end later this month before I download them, however, as I can get away with a lot more at my normal desk. :D

 great game !!

Ive been lucky to be on the playtest group for about two years ....... its a blast, Ive tried allot of rules........... gameplay, how modifiers are treated, how a scenario flows, initiative, all handled with an ease. Simple to play hard to master would be a good way to explain it

I use it for Pulp games, but also for 60's spy action

forgive the unfinished table ........... its getting there 8)

I also ordered these rules. I think either Mila or Dave are psychic because I got the PDF in less than 20 minutes! They look spiffy. Can't wait to get a game in.

Bought my pdf over christmas break when I saw the online store went live. Dave and Mila have some great customer service, and helped me out with a combined pdf for use on my tablet (original was in 3 parts to retain artwork resolution while maintaining reasonable file sizes).

Looking forward to reading through these and trying them out on the tabletop. Thanks for another pulp rules option.

Just read it and...WOW! I really like the rules...lots of nice options and tricks, but supereasy gameplay. I can see this getting very popular.
Once me and my mates have finished our Call of Cthulhu RPG campaign, I'll give this a try with them. Gives me some time to finish more models and scenery ;)

But first impression: 9/10
My only nitpick is the vanilla rules for shooting. I like some diversity in guns, but I can also understand why the choice was made not to take this route.
