« on: 06 January 2013, 03:03:09 PM »
Having recently bought La Longue Carbine supplement to Sharp Practice I felt the need for a few Colonial Militia. I,ll try to post the painted figures later today - look away now Captain Blood you hate these figures, maybe you can be persueded to look again I hope.

Actually, they look quite good  :)

It's the horses with the weirdly misshapen 'my little pony' heads that I dislike.

Who makes the cabin at the back?

Yup it,s the church I have it made up and waiting for a coat of primer. Don Troiani in his " Soldier,s in America" book page 2 says " prior to 1750 uniforms were rare " and New England Militia bought some brown and blue cloth from sutlers which was made up into uniforms. On page 53 he has a " Massachuetts Militia at Lexington 1775 " dressed in a Brown collarless coat with Lt.Blue waistcoat and breeches.  1st figure is  "look to your front"

The company, basing still to be painted. Any additional information, especially from our cousins across the pond, would be greatly appreciated.

C,pn Green deploys his newley raised company behind some fences and hopes the,ll hold after their first volley.  "OK boys ah reckon them red varmints ill cum up thro the peach orchard, hold fire till I give the word then let rip " . The company holds its breath and leans forward against the fences. Somewhere a dog barks, then a yelp and something rustles and moves in the trees ------
